My 30 day trial on WinFTP Pro expired, and I need to find a fre FTP program that operates like WinFTP Pro ( None of those text FTP programs) for free. I'm not asking for warez, just where to get an easy to use FTP program so I can continue to work on the TVWP and Alternate Paths.

C:\windows\ftp.exe <-- best one ever
Try WS_FTP95 LE <-- what i use
CuteFTP
FTP Explorer
EZ-FTP
or write your own! its relativly simple
-
Hmmm. I actually didn't know about ftp.exe.
*pats vadar on the back and start randomly transfering files*
-
Thanks Vadar. I just got WS_FTP95 LE off of webattack.:D
I just got WS_FTP95 LE off of webattack. Now maybe the site for the TVWP will go up pretty soon.
EDIT: I'm no genius, so how exactly do I get into my directory on Gamespy?
-
I particularly like FTP Explorer....
-
it automatically takes you to the main directory (my login does anyway)... but hey, whadaya know, you don't have access to that directory, so type in:
/hlp/hosted/14_year_war/
and you'll get to your directory

I downloaded FTP Explorer and it works wonders. Stealth, I put up that temporary TVWP site also.
-
Well, I've transfered precisely two files EVER, and I used Terrapin FTP for both of 'em. Seems to work (not that I'd be able to tell)
-
SmartFTP (http://www.smartftp.com), what I use. Freeware, too.

Sure, if you like a particularly BAD rip off of the original BSD client.
You're better off looking for something like ncftp3 for win32 if you want a proper command line ftp client.
For GUI ftp clients I recommend WS-FTP LE or the standard windows ftp folders. Anything more recent than win95 should have 'em.

I find FTP Explorer an excellent program.
EDIT: I just figured out that if I go into MS Internet explorer and type in ftp://www.3dap.com/hlp\hosted\14_year_war\ it will ask me for my login info, then I can copy-paste stuff from my hardrive into that folder. Cool. :D

yes you can use windows explorer, but you can't issue ftp commands to it (except send, recv, del, etc). That and its not very reliable.
-
Does all I need it to do. Put my stuff up on my webspace.
-
leechFTP. best one I ever used. evah

IE has an intgrated FTP in it, just typ in
ftp://username@domainname.com
