I created about 3 new primarys and 3 new missiles out of existing :V: weapons. They show up in the ship edit in Fred, and also in the Team loadout, in Fred. i have them spelled correctly in the tbls. The problem is that only 1 primary and only 1 missile appear in the

I kinda need them to show up otherwise i wont be able to use them ingame (without cheating).
how do i fix?

Do they all have the "player allowed" flag?
-
I think Sesq is correct........although it'd be hard to narrow down the problem without a copy of the entry.
90% of weapon problems are to do with the flags and the anis for selection. Everything else is just tweaking effects and damage. You can throw Sathani around!

:wtf:
course they do. Was the 1st thing i looked at.
I've been around the tbls for a long time. Technically (well as i see it) it should work, but it doesnt. I'll try redoing the entrys or something, see if that helps.

Send me the tbls and I'll look them over for you, proof read them, as it were.

Do you always use the same TBL files?
I found that, after a number of changes, weapons seem to vanish from FRED2. This often reached the point where the only weapons available were the hornet and Subach HL-7. And that was for ALL fighters/bombers.
To cure this, I get a fresh TBL (I always keep a copy of the original) and replace it's contents. It seems that it is the number of times the file is edited that causes the problem, so a fresh TBL cures all my woes.
Don't know if that was relevant or helpful, but I hope so.

Why keep a copy of the original tbl, when you can just extract it from the VP?
Btw, welcome to HLP (if it has not been said before) and gald to see that you're English, as I'm from Yorkshire, myself.

Easier to make a copy of a file in explorer (Click and drag while holding control) and rename it then it is to dig into the Start menu for VPView, wait for it to load, load the right VP, find the right table, and extract it to whatever directory you're putting it in. I like to keep an "Original Ships.tbl" file around so I can easily have a clean copy. :)

I keep an original ships.tbl, but cleaned up without comments and doublespaceing.

If there was some kind of error in this part of a fighter entry:
$Allowed PBanks:
$Default PBanks:
$Allowed SBanks:
$Default SBanks:
in the ships.tbl, could that be the probelm?

I remember getting a strange problem a while ago where I could only get a certain number of ships to show up in the loadout screen (e.g. if I selected all the ships in a mission, it only went up to the Artemis DH and did not show anything under that), but that was only in the game and the limit was high enough as to not really that much of an issue in practice. My tables were wiped out at one point though and I had to rewrite everything, at which point it ceased to become a problem, so there must have been something wrong in there.
I don't think it has anything to do with the weapon bank specifications, since I once even had weapons in there that did not exist in the game, but it just ignored the bad entries and worked fine.
It might possibly be related to the ordering of the entries in the table file, though.

Ahh, so do I actually, I withdraw my previous point. I also keep one with the weaps sorted out, so the Iceni is symmetrical, the Lev has a better main beam, and the Arcadia can defend itself.
