Just testing RDS's abilities... I just found a whole set of new goodies, and wanted to test 'em

Notes: The key IC-CVOR contribution to the final battle between the Terrans and Shivans, this Ultimate-level fighter/bomber is maneuverable, heavily armored, and sports massive firepower. Unfortunately, there are only four of them and an estimated 50 billion Shivans.

Updated version may include gun turret or second cockpit

heh i can see why you called it the Gladius. it looks like a sword missing its hilt, and gladius = sword (in Latin). Yay for latin class  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Aand... yeh, that name just came to me after I made it- right after "angelfish from Hell" (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Now I'm trying to think of something equally powerful for an alternate unit. But the notes hold true- It's planned for a campaign where your few ships are the only Terran ones left (whole lotta Red Alert missions in it), and you've gotta get through a huge Shivan fleet and destroy their command ship- think max turret limit, tons of beams, looks like a Lucy times 50. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) I've been trying to make that one for a while but the polys always go through the roof.
