Well? What was the worst acting you've ever seen on TV? This isn't limited to TV shows, so feel free to expand beyond them.
-
Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Conan"
That was just awful...
-
Anything with David Hasselhoff. :D

I second that. VIP was pretty awful too.

Was there any acting in that show to be considered bad? :p :D

I happened to be flicking thru the channels and came upon that new ABC Family show, Galidor.
God aweful, haven't seen anything worse since.
-
any asian-made movie
well... 99% of asian madem ovoies
-
Discarding all soap operas for obvious reasons, my vote would have to go to the Dinotopia miniseries...It was one of the things that destroyed a potentally great experience, along with Zippo, the storyline, the characters, not following the books, general ****tiness etc.
A close second is Mutant X - I saw the few minutes pre opening credits of one episode...never again:ick .
-
dunno, from what i've seen and heard, enterprise comes pretty close, that series is sure helpen star trek towards te grave! i mean, the actors are more out of there uniforms then in them  and that isn't the way star trek's supposed to be.
-
Oh, I don't know, I sorta like Enterprise. While it doesn't capture the original series flare, or even have the strong character definement that TNG and TOS had, it's ok.
The ship looks cool, too, even if it is just a re-designed Akira.

Seconded
-
Although it hasn't been on TV yet (unless you count watching it on DVD as TV) I would say the worst acting performance I've seen would be Hayden Christensen in Star Wars: Episode 2.
-
It's already been on TV, and I must say the acting in Star Wars: Episode 1, Jar-Jar Binks (Can't believe no one's said that yet).
-
Episode II had some pretty bad acting too.
but none of it compares to...Dungeons and Dragons!
-
Obviously, you people haven't seen Adventure, Inc.
-
My vote goes towards some BBC film based on the novel Jane Eyre (spelling mistake?). Acters were very rigid and the music sounded like one of those crappy midi seqences gone wrong. Terrible.
-
ST: Voyager, they solved every single problem by reconfiguring that damned deflector dish; the ships looked cool though
-
Denise Richards
-
Neighbours / Home and Away
-
War of the worlds - The TV series. The only thing more painful than the acting was the plotline. Aliens invade the world in the 50's. Nearly destroy the world and are only defeated by bacteria. When they come back 40 years later no one believes in aliens.
-
Full House.
Bob Saget and the Olsen twins. 'Nuf said.
-
ummm have any of you even seen D&D the movie?

I have. That movie's only saving grace was when that moron Wayan's brother died. Even Jeremy Iron's acting was a bit....over the top.

a friend of mine liked it, scary isn't it? (I haven't watched, don't plan to, and resist attempts friend takes to get me to watch it)

I cannot wait until they turn 18.

I also nominate Episode 2 based on just one line:
They're like animals. And I slaughtered them like animals! I hate them!
Go Anakin... go!!

Seconded. That movie was a God-Forsaken piece of trash.

And what made it worst is that there are probably kids in schools who play D&D and have made a better plotline than the movie. How could they have got it so badly wrong?
-
C'mon guys, lay off of Hayden. He was paid to act like a whiney brat, and he pulled it off perfectly. (Seems to be a genetic trait for the Skywalker males.... *cough*Luke*cough*)

Vert does raise a good point. Hayden may have acted the role perfectly but just had a bad script (after watching TPM and AotC I`m starting to lean towards bad script)
-
Must I remind people of Battlefield Earth?! :shaking: The worst movie ever to be created?! Actually.... Moulin Rouge... Thats a bad movie... Its one of those rare movies where I get the physical urge to hurt someone when that movie comes into a discussion.
But worst acting on TV eh? Must as well be everyone to have ever shown up on Temptation island that my GF forced me to watch with her... Oh god help me that was absolutely horrible... I mean, dreadful, horrible, utterly hysterically overacted crap! Man... Actually, you can put that show up there with Moulin Rouge as something that makes me physically hurt someone...

Man, Mars Attacks! was the bomb. :) It made fun of every 50s scifi-alien-invasion movie ever, and did it with class and style. :P

Juding from the responses to my last comment I`m guessing that no one actually saw War of the Worlds - The Series apart from me.
Count yourself very lucky people :D
-
comon starship troopers isnt ment for intense acting anyway
its just shouldter blood and bugsloughter again :D
hmm about any soap opera is terrible
the bald (or bold ? ) and the beautiful  and many many MANY more
all terrible i could puke

I did, I just don't want to talk about it... *shudder*
-
Comon we can think outside of the box here..I'll say the worst acting I've seen in a video game easily goes to the voice acting in Star Ocean 2! Decent game but the voices certainly didn't match with what the characters looked like.
-
This thread is ovcer a year old... didn't you get the warning?
-
Holy utility belt Batman! This is old!
-
Well, Mutant X is close, but the winner for me has got to be Hercules in New York, with our old friend Arnie, well, not his voice ;) Or anythng with that Steven Seagal bloke :D
Flipside :D
Ooooops, oh well, I didn't bump so I might as well join in ;)
-
hmmm...someone must have been looking at the "one year ago on HLP" thing, and decided to post.

Oh yeah, and Bert Ward was pretty bad on Batman. thanks for reminding me :D
-
bah.
Event Horizon.
Worst acting ever. Worst visuals ever. Worst CG compositing ever. Worst writing ever. Worst shameless pandering ever.
-
Geri Halliwell when she appeared on Sex and The City.
I almost started crying just from the 5-second clip I saw.
-
Who cares if it's old??? it's still an interesting topic. I'll have to say the worst acting I ever saw was probably in (god forgive me) Kangaroo Jack. I don't know how I sat down for 2 hours to watch it, and I felt like I wasted every damn minute.
-
Total Recall
yikes... everything in that movie just about sucked.
-
War of the Worlds- The Series and the D&D movie are so utterly terrible. Battlefield: Earth was also so bad that I wanted to turn it off after the first 15 minutes, the only reason I kept watching was to see how much worse it could get :p
Event Horizon I thought was funny.
Of course, no one has put down the worst movie of all time:
Plan 9 From Outer Space
Shame on you all for not mentioning it :)
-
never heard of it Ace.
the worst show i've seen was Mutant X and Adventure, inc.
-
The worst movie I saw was BATS. Now that movie suk so much a** that I had nightmares for three days that I would have to see it agian.....
-
Gymkata or Wizards of the Lost Kingdom. Absolutely atrocious the both of them and although movies (supposedly) they have been shown on TV. Check the user comments on IMDB. Great films.

No voice acting is worse than the original Resident Evil game. Especially Barry...
-
Man, I loved Gymkata. :D
Plan Nine from Outer Space is intentionally atrocious. They went out of their way to make it really really really bad.
-
I once saw a review of Plan 9 that said something like
"The film was complicated by the fact that Bela Lugosi died halfway through the filming....and who could blame him?" :D
-

Ummm... no. Wrong. Absolutely wrong. As wrong as wrong can be.
-
Santa Clause VS. The Martians... Now theres bad acting... But for something more recent, I would perhaps say Supernova, or even the new Battlestar Galactica...
-
Mars Attacks was pretty bad, but i think that was satirizing 50's sci-fi
-
Doctor Who could be considered a 40 year History of Bad Acting ;)
-

Yeah it was :)
btw, does anyone watch Mystery Science Theater? :D

Yes:)
I nominate the Prince of Space. There are worse ones, but that's what I remember.

Edward D. Wood Jr. honestly thought Plan 9 From Outer Space was an excellent film showing human arrogance, emotions, etc.
He was also a delusional odd little guy, as seen in the Tim Burton movie about his life: Ed Wood :)

Mars Attacks! was surely intended as satire, but in the end it was exactly as horrible as the 50's sci-fi it was based on.

Ohh. I'm getting shivers.
You may not believe it--as it seems completely impossible--but the book was actually worse than the movie. It is true. But please DONT test this. Just believe me. *shudders*
D&D. Can this even be considered a movie? More of a film used in toture sessions.
Ever seen Dark Planet? Don't. For your sake dont.

Perhaps about Battlestar, but then, Adama and the space battles redeem EVERYTHING. Even that biatch of a president.
Ohh yeah, any of the new Star Wars movies, especially the third. At the rate Lucas is going everyone will leave the theater (hopefully, and teach that scumbag that just because you used to make good movies doesn't mean you still can).

Don't you say that about everything anyone says?
In this case, since Ace agrees with you, I'll stand corrected.
-
Whatever, I loved Mars Attacks. That movie was so frecking hilarious, I don't care if the acting sucked. And Natalie Portman makes it better ;).
-
Starship troopers didn't have good acting, but the bug fights and the space ships were VERY worth it :)

You do seem to be wrong more often than most though. That's probably coloring your perception.

Rather than fence, I'll jump to exactly what you want in hopes that it will shut you up.
Shut the **** up, you ****ing, lackwitted moron.
Happy now?

The comma should go before the 'you', with another one after '****ing'.

Thanks, An0n. I'll fix that forthwith.

I cannot believe somebody hasn't dug out
the Wing Commaner Movie not only did chris slaughter his own story line but he tried to compress three of the games into one movie and only spend $27 mil on it when he spent $100 mil on the third game ALONE!
moron
-
I didn't see the point in a WC movie. I'd had enough of watching the games.
-
Kudos to Kaz for beating me to it. :p
Bad acting, eh? Hmm....'Evolution' was shoddy at times, but the comedic value kept it from being a total disaster.....sort of.......

I pity those who missed out on seeing Gymkata. If I had to hail one movie as the funniest movie I have ever seen in my entire life, Gymkata would be in with a very loud shout. Dummies falling into ravines, hobby horses in village squares, crazy men exposing their buttocks. It has the lot.
Please may I also nominate the entire cast of "Timeline" for the hall of shame. Paper bags have nothing to worry about. Did anyone else notice the arrow being dropped into a bin (well actually a barrel filled with junk) in one of the battle scenes?

My biggest complaint with the WC movie was that they didn't use the WC1/2 ship designs for the Tiger's Claw, Rapier, and Broadsword.

That's your biggest complaint about the movie? I might complain at that but it ranks way below the movie being crap :D

Well for me, there were tons of niggling things that ruined it piece by piece (The Pilgrim backstory, the "new" kitty cats, etc.) but reinventing the ship designs was the last straw :p

Making a Wing Commander movie was a good idea. It was not knowing HOW to make a Wing Commander movie but carrying on anyway that was a bad idea :D

Worst acting? I definitively have the winner, but you wouldn't know, french stuff :doubt:.
