How do I change the joystick controls? When I push up on joystick, the ship 'dives'. I want the ship to 'climb' when I push up. I know it's lame but I just can't get my head round this:o In I-War2 I played it this way by editing the ini file but Freespace 2 doesn't seem to have an ini file or config file.

look in the control config for something that says "Invert Y Axis" and turn it off.

flamethrowers are under the seats exits are too the left and right, and dont mind the shivan crawling on the walls that Carl just give him your sandwich and you will be OK.

I wouldn't call it lame, Zephyr, but it is pretty odd.
Out of curiosity, how did you start playing that way?
-
Have you tried it the normal way? Might get used to it. :) But anyway, there should be an invert Y axis in the options screen.
-
Up for up and down for down? That's... dirty :ick
-
Do you live in a world where gravity is inverted? Or have you spent too long playing console toys?

Lol, technically on joysticks no matter which way you push them they'll always end up getting pushed down :p
-
And you'll always have to reinstall the drivers every week because Windows is a pile of crap and messes up the controls! Handle twist? HA!

Wow, I leave for the night & got so many replies.
@demon442: Thank you, got it working now.
@Deepblue: Eh, thank you for the toasty welcome.
@mikhael: It just seems more natural to me.
@Hudzy: I become space dust.
@Petrarch of the VBB: Where I come from gravity is a push, not a pull :D

Actually, I'd say the push-forward-to-dive model is more natural. if you imagine your head as a stick, to look DOWN, you tilt your head FORWARD. ;)
But hey, I know a guy that uses his mouse upside down (cord toward him) and it works well for him. Whatever works for you is cool.

That's just odd. :blah:

Indeed, very odd. Why not turn the monitor upside down and move all your keys around while you're at it?
-
Someone did that to me last year - while I was down the corridor in the kitchen, he turned every single item in my room upside-down. So, when he wasn't looking, I stole his computer, and set it up on the toilet - plugged everything in and switched it on. Had us laughing, that night
