I was discussing this, and I think we need a list of all the smaller campaigns in progress, especially as campaign watch over a VW is a bit out of date....

My Campaign is called Dark horizons, no web page yet, its about another shivan invasion starting in Ross 128 and i'm making the shivans as they should be more powerfull and deadly than the GTVA they were to evenly matched in FS2. Contains a few new cap ships Including a planetkiller and cap ship weapons. Could really use the help of a mission designer.

I'm making the Alpha Quadrant project 2.01, plus the Alpha Quadrant Campaign.
The MODs will be released before the campaign...
Project Features:
-Reskinning all ships to look like the various races from Star Trek (60% complete)
-Changing the properties of all the ships to act like the various races (98% complete)
-Replacing the FS2 weapons to Star Trek weapons, including sounds (99.95% complete).
-Adding a few new effects like a new warp effect, new explosion (green for Borg Missile), weapon effects, squad logos and more (80% complete).
-Altering game and interface sounds to Star Trek interface sounds and sound effects (90% complete).
Campaign Features (8% complete):
-Fly as the Federation and with the Klingons and Romulans.
-Battle the Borg, plus the opportunity to get assimilated and play for the Borg Collective in the Borg loop.
-Lots of voice audio sounds for your wingmen, persona, briefing and ingame messages.
-Plus much more.

Formerly known as the user-made FS3, Left Behind features a whole new race, several large and powerful Terran factions with radically different designs and technology, and a huge and unwieldy fanfic background. However, it has a staff of 1 and I lost the entire campaign (well, the large portion I'd finished) a while ago, so I'm thinking of giving up the campaign end and turning what I have into a Sol fanfic database with huge numbers of mods, etc.
All I really need to finish is a free, functional copy of TrueSpace, because I am NOT paying $100 to convert a few dozen DXFs into COBs.

30 years after Capella. The GTVA split up into loadsa smaller factions after contact with Sol was established, and the Galactic Sol Confederacy refused to join the GTVA. The new factions are the Galactic Terran Alliance, Neo-Terran Alliance, Rim Systems Alliance, Galactic Vasudan Empire, Free Vasudan Alliance and the Crypton Trade Association.
At least the first campaign is flown for the Rim Systems Alliance, stationed on the brand new explorer Odysseus ("http://koti.mbnet.fi/jabu/shippies.html"), ordered beyond mapped systems, past Epsilon Eridani, flying advanced fast scouts. I allready have modified HUD images (I think are cool but retain FS2 accsesibility) new music but original is VERY good and is hard to make numerus music that fit together ??
Modeling is easy, and once I get the converting down that will be easy, plot is easy, missions are harder but no dout I will make progress (I have already made a few full test missions to learn - aiming very high at 50 missions right now but...)
New weapon and missile .anis are made and ready to be used, table editing is well easy anything else???

Mine is called Over the Top.
Features the NGTA (NeoGTA) that split from the Vasudan empire and the Tau Imperium -a Terran faction-.
Begins about 97 years after Ross128. Two sets of only ten missions each planed, but lots of new models, and a plot that I believe is very interesting.

Just a word of advice from one modder to another... don't set a number on the amount of missions you plan. There are several reasons for this:- If you don't make it to your goal, you'll get down on youself, and others might as well.
- The quality-over-quantity rule ALWAYS applies.
- Try starting small, and watching the campaign grow on its own. (ie Derelict)
- Don't set numbers you are unsure about. When you go to "fill that order", prepare to be overwhelmed and burned out.
Again, just a little of advice I've learned from experience.

I'm making a new campaign based on a recent campaign closure!!
It's called "THE MANEATERS OF TSAVO" That title might sound familar, but ill tell u a 1996 movie was based on it, and a dead campaign got its title from that...
anyway u'll see the all new Claymore and Firehawk Space action fighters in it as they together try and stop 2 huge shivan super destroyers from hurting peeps...

We're currently on hold for a while, but ours is called GroundZero. It sets Alpha 1 roughly 20 years after the great war in a Peaceful yet tense GTVA. Your missions revolve around whoever employs you, who at this point is the Vega Merchant's Consortium. Your job is to safeguard VMC assets.....

"The Procyon Insurgency" (working title)
Here's a short description I cooked up about the story:
After over a year of political instability and economic depression,
the regional governments of two populous systems, led by a
charismatic demagogue, declare full independence from the GTVA.
The GTVA reacts violently to this uprising and hostilities begin.
Features:
-11 high-quality missions with a compelling storyline
-New player-flyable ship
-Several other new ships
-3 new player-usable weapons
-3 squadrons with accompanying logos
-A few soundtracks from the original FreeSpace
-16 new background images
I haven't decided whether to create a website or not for mine yet since I'm the only one working on it and I therefore do not need any system to organize and communicate with the rest of the staff.

I have one called "Outcasts". You play as a new recruit in a raider group called the Black Cross, located in the Antares system, and have to battle against the GTVA and other pirate groups at the same time. It provides a good backdrop for an interesting and fast paced storyline that I have planned. Already have the first 15 missions done (shooting for about 25-30).

I'm working on a TC called 'Final Days'. No FS stuff here, basing the whole thing off of the 'Starfighter' and 'Starcarrier' wargames of my own design.

Haven't got much done yet (only started this 3d modelling and MODding stuff in June, and didn't start this project until mid July) But there is a demo available on the website which includes about half a dozen missions (accessable in the tech room).
The final game is going to include:
- two single-player campaigns (one from each side)
- 5 western and 4 eastern player-flyable fighter craft
- full voice and sound (need talent, currently low priority)
- New music soundtrack (maybe, depending on available talent, thinking of using high-energy guitar-riffs or somthing to that effect)
- Modified HUD to reflect differences between FS and FD craft (no shields, no energy management, limited cannon ammunition, etc)
- POSSIBLY new menu screens (if I feel like it (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) )
- A storyline that will take the player(s) from Jupiter orbit, through the belts, to Earth, and right up to the brink of nuclear war (about 15 missions or so)
- Multiplayer campaigns set withing the main campaign allowing players to play out the full game with thier friends (MP campaigns will likely be broken into 3-5 mission chunks and offered in a numerical order to be played in, might also make one UBER MP campaign with the whole thing for those with too much time on their hands (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) )

Caught in the Middle:
Stes up 50 years after Capella, the contact to Earth has been established, and Sol is ran by misterious group called the Council. The Concil asks the GTVA two years to consider unification, after those two years, the Council attacks the GTVA and within one week, the GTVA has only a handful of systems... the GTVA has to fight for its freedom, but a darker threat looms within Mirfak and Ross 128...
It is planned to feature:
- 2 Episodes (nÂș of missions yet to define)
- A lot of mods, and new models(if I can get some more modelers)
- Various smaller campaigns, that use little and simple mods, that happen before the main one, but that explain some ocurrences, and recreates big events.
- The return of the Shivan superiority!!
- Some good and nice surprises!!!!!!
- A "new and original storyline" (words by Slanker (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif) )

Set 14 years after FS2, the Knossos campaign covers three episodes and includes amongst other things:

SOC: Operation Otara
Set during the second Shivan invasion, fly as a member of the GTVI's elite SOC deep behind Shivan lines. Participate in familiar battles from an unfamiliar point of view, explore further into Shivan space then ever before, and discover the horrible truth behind the greatest mystery that the GTVA has ever encountered.

The Eden Project is not a campaign in itself, but is really three different campaigns: Winds of Fate, New Frontiers, and Echoes.
Winds of Fate puts you as Kyle Polk, who saw action during the later part of the Tau Sigma incident. You have been reassigned to the GTD Soyokaze, to investigate rumours of a new rebel faction in Epsilon Pegasi.
Details on the plot of the other two will only be revealed after WoF's completion.
It will feature:
* A unified MOD package including new models from Aldo_14, Psycho and Jabu.
* Character-based plotline
* No NTF or HOL clones
* Nothing to do with returning to Earth or the Sol system
* A new species, which will have no ships of its own but will be citizens of a major government in Echoes
* 10-17 missions per campaign
