One of the things I love best about RDS... is that I have access to tons of ship stock models that Truespace lacks! And they're (more or less) cool! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Aah, laziness is a gift...

ICD ___ (RDS designation is Orion, this is clearly not acceptable)
The ICD ___ is a sturdy light cruiser which can be produced by the dozen n CSI shipyards. These possess a fair challenge to both fighters and other medium-sized ships, particularly when in groups.

and for a quite medium quality model, quite a big polycount too I'm afraid... you better train and make models by yourself (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
-
This ain't the best, simply the one that looks most FreeSpace- the rest are more... well... something else.
And I do do my own models. They get mocked. I cry. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

BTW: actually quite low-poly, RDS rendering makes curved surfaces smoother automatically, if you tell it to.
-
yeah, the surfaces, ok, that's called gouraud shading (or phont, or metal, whatever the kind). but look at the edges. Just tell the polycount to be sure (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

If Indiana Jones and Han Solo were in a fight... who would win?
If you figure out what this number means you win a prize :D

Looks great, but shouldnt it be the ICC instead of ICD?
-
I can't get an exact count on the polys (no TS to covert yet, and RDS is built for comps fast enough that it doesn't usually matter- no counter. I'd give a rough estimate of 1500-, certainly no more... and I'd trim off the unnecessary bits beforehand.
True. ICC. And Unidan, you have not seen my heavy ships... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
