Actually I would have said the background is not dark enough, seeing as if you look at the terrain the light source for the enviorment is behind, or at least to the rear left of the marine.

Did I make that background? It looks kinda familiar... :) As for the light being wrong, just say that this solar system has two suns... ;)

Two Things. First a little thing i knocked up, thanks Ryx for the model.(hmm, that sounds...odd) Secondly, is what i gather, an IR effect on the background.
