Title: Legality question
Post by: TopAce on December 23, 2002, 04:29:45 pm
Is that legal, if I put onto the forum a squadron logo that is a symbol in an another game? I say it out: The squadron logo is the Allied Symbol in Red Alert 2. Won't it be erased immediatly?

Vea, verily, this (http://planetcnc.com/site/legal.shtml) is the legal mumbo-jumbo from PlanetCnC. Perhaps there may be a useful nugget of information in there.

Oh, and this is the FS modding forum, BTW - just in case you didn't realise :)

Speaking of squadron logos, does anybody have an HLP logo without any text or anything on it?

Am I missing something or does that sound really assinine? The StarWars mod uses two symbols for the avatar and Lucas won't have a problem cause it's just a mod, while gamespy has a bug up their rears if you use it for a squad logo? Well they can take thier logo and stick it where a shivan wouldn't go... (no offense Carl)...

Gamespy can't do anything if you use the Allies Logo from Red Alert 2. You'll have to check with Electronic Arts for that.

If you use the logo and tell everyone where it's from I doubt anyone would complain (after all it's free advertising).

It's only if you pass it off as your own / meet a really anal company that you`ll have a problem.
