My first (and probably the last) squadron logo I have made. Is it familiar? If not, see the 'Legality question topic'
-
Ah the good ol squadron of 'RED X' now that brings back memories :D
-
The first attempt to insert an image with this overcomplicated system always fails....
Can somebody tell me why cannot this page read a simple gif file?
-
(http://nexus.hu/harace//alliedsymbol.pcx)
Hmm... the image tags don't work, so it must be a dodgy address or something. And it seems that the file is a pcx, not a gif :)
-
Any kind of image it can be, this engine is unable to read it. Perhaps I try a JPG, but a squadron logo must be in a pcx, or a gif, but surely not a JPG.
-
Then simply convert it for the purpose of posting it here. That would seem to be the simple solution.
[EDIT] Ah, no, it's your host that's the problem. The image cannot be reached - if I copy and paste the address, I get an error message, like when an image is hosted on Geocities or the like

Probably the '//' at the end - IIRC it makes the DNS think you're looking for a 'null' named directory.

First, please explain how you would make the image insertion process less complicated. All you have to do now is click the IMG button and paste in the URL.
Second, you seem to be fundamentally confused about the difference between a browser and a web page within the browser. If an externally-linked image isn't showing up, it's nothing to do with this page. It's your fault for providing a faulty URL, or hosting your image on a site that doesn't allow image hosting.
In summary, it's time to start blaming yourself for your screwups.

NOOO!!! anything but that!!
-
ouch Zylon.. he's only a n00b
oh wait.. memory kicking in.
:D
-
No no no... he's not a noob. He's an intarweb expert, and all his problems are because of this "overcomplicated" board and its "stupid windows (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,12302.0.html)". If we're not careful, he'll shoot us with his winchester!
-
Interweb, interweb... where have I heard that one before...
Hold on - that was Poksis, right? *shudders*
-
I don't see what's so hard about this. Inserting images here works like almost every other board I have ever seen.
-

I hope this works.
Thanks for the help, everyone, At least I know and I always knew that that first RED x image was my fault. Forgive me, I am only a begginer in using the Internet, and especially forums. Double // instead one? Strange.
-
hmm.... that's the Allied symbol from C%C: Red Alert 2? :D Nice job.
-
not bad actually.. gives me some ideas for a squadron. Save one thing, doesn't it need to be on a greenbackground ?
-
*Goes off and picks out a GDI and NOD logo*

Not necessarily. Only if you want some of it to be transparent.
-
I like that. :D
-
2 answers, and a question:
The background color is blue in the game, and everywhere I have seen this logo.
I do not have Tiberian sun and standard C and C, so I will not make GDI or NOD symbols. Soviet symbol is truly forbidden, I think Red2 had a special permission for using that.
I didn't want to add that blue background, because I don't see the hull's plating AROUND the eagle and triangle, only a black square. How can I fix it?
-
Replace the blue with a pure geen in which ever image editor your using .. 0, 255, 0 IIRC

This is my newest. It's color is between orange and brown, but it must be due to the 256 color setting. Using this logo increases your accuracy by 5%, confidence by 20% and hull strength by 40%. The magical effect of this logo is unrevealed yet, any information found has been classified on the highest level:nod:

MUST ...
RESIST......TEMP..TATION.... TO ....... POSST ..... DatDB .... SQUAD ..... LOGO's;7

Got any problems?

Some other familiar symbols:
Now, I have been working on them for an entire day. They are not as dirty on a ship, only the green background makes it dirty.

Bah. 5 minutes with PSP--

*steals ZylonBane's logos*
-
Those are 16-bit images, not? Mine are 256 color format as required. I didn't steal ZylonBane's idea.
-
1. That's only one image.
2. It's 256-color.
3. I created that AFTER you, not before.
4. Making FS2 logos based on FS2 logos hardly qualifies as an "idea".
