I've been using my Thrustmaster Afterburner 2 on my ME system for a year or 2 with no trouble but for Christmas i got a nice new Computer. Only trouble is XP is arsing about with my joystick. I can't get new drivers because it is a USB devise which has been built as a HID (Human interface devide) so XP can automatically use it. And it's right because the joystick works fine. Only trouble is if i shut down my PC with the stick plugged in the window gets to the "Windows Shutting Down" Screen then nothing happens, it freezes. If i unplug the joystick first it shuts down fine.
Anyone help me! It's dam annoying having to unplug it every time i close down and plugging it in when i want to use it.

It's not about calibration. Something wrong about both axis.

Trust me, I've tried that. Lots of times. And with a hammer.

It stopped working right after you returned it to me. Isn't that a coincidence.

can't really figure out what's wrong there mate... but I'd recommend you contacted Thrustmaster, they might have some sort of clue what's happening.

Had this happen b4 with other USB devices, is the stick a USB 2 connection on a USB 1 port ? My Saitek X45 did that everytime until I installed a USB 2 board and used that for my stick,.. then Win shut down without a hitch.

I wonder if that's why my computer has refused to shut down right about half the time....

Does your motherboard have a VIA chipset? If so, download the VIA USB Filter driver and see if that fixes it.
