I'm looking for something death-rock-y with plenty of anger and decent lyrics.

Think Mudvayne - Not Falling and you'll be in the right kinda area.

Sorta Death-Nu-Metal.

I don't much Nu Metal or whatever.. static X count?

Try looking for "Cinder" in WinMX or kazaa.. their cd comes out next month.. have a cool single called soul creation.

*Shakes head in disgust*

I really need to find some new music

There's not a whole lot out there that suits your taste.  I happen to like some of the older death metal\industrial, but mudvayne is cool(except LD50).  My main fear is that all the new metal bands get squelched out by all the pop rock(Saliva, SUM41, ect.) or are constantly recycled from good metal bands.

On the subject, try Disturbed's harder songs or if all else fails Flaw.  I urge you to try some Ministry and Metalica if you havent already.

EDIT: Slipknot fits, but i doubt you would like looking up the lyrics.  Personally, I can hear fine, but nobody else that i know can.

Ah Yes, Slipknot. Haven't gotten much into them yet.

You could always go with the obvious KoRn, but they are getting kinda popular and eh..

*Looks at cds*

You might like Insane Clown Posse. I'm not sure if you'll think they are retarded or not but thier worth a try. Some of their cds are more rock and if you are looking for "angry lyrics" then they are a must. (their new cd, the wraith, owns. Not as hard as the others, but whatya gonna do)

Godsmack maybe? I would have mentioned Disturbed, but I think I heard you say you had them somewhere.

Raging Speedhorn

Earthtone9

Landmine Spring

Refused (the shape of punk to come album)

Will Haven

Prong

Filter

Therapy

Mad Capsule Markets

You'd probably find what your looking for in at least one of those bands.

As in "music liked by people other than smelly, scruffy teenagers"...

:p

[EDIT] I must admit, though, that right now my Winamp is playing Duelling Banjos... perhaps it's best not to ask... :nervous:

Biffy Clyro <-- proper band.  Try them an0n, they are more Emo-core than "death-rock-y" but they do have plenty of "anger and decent lyrics".  Have a look for 'Kill the old, torture the young' or 'The Go Slow', should be able to find them on WinmX or Kazan.  The main site is www.biffyclyro.co.uk, but is down at the moment.  www.d2fm.co.uk is a fan site which is actually better, you can download the songs from there too.

Hmm....... not much into metal, I'm afraid to say.  Generally I'll like specific songs, not bands as a whole.

Tried System of a Down though?
