That is realy nice, i wish i could texture like u. but i dont think it is a "Valk", it hasant got the same back, and the fusalage looks two difrent.

I love this fighter, but Fozzy's right, it really isn't a Valk. It looks too much like an air fighter I guess. Too many fins and wings and such.
-
Ditto. Nice job (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
-
I need the Stentor. The skin isn't quite as good, but the colour scheme fits better (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Looks good. I have to admit that it does remind me of an F1-11.
-
Well I think it does look like the Valk2...
If you'd like me to make a shield icon for it, just say.

Whoa... those are just... so good. Top job. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Awesome stuff (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Nice work, as usual. The textures both look... different... from the standard FS fare. I don't know if thats a good thing or not.. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

EDIT
There was a small error with the DL file on the webpage, it's now been fixed with an uncorrupted version.

???
The Thunderbolt II and the Phantom II certainatly don't look like their predessesors either. When a manufacturer produces a product (be it a fighterjet or an automobile), a lot of times they will name it after a previous successful design (compare a '72 Charger and a '78 Charger if you really need an example). Just because it's named the Valkyrie doesn't neccisarily mean that it has ANYTHING in common with the origional design.

I always new it was going be a bit contentious coming up with a Valk 2, as it's legendary... even if it did look a bit like a constipated seagull.
anyway, RE: design , it is roughly along the smae lines as the Valk 1. The wings are near identical, except above the missiles rather than below. The cockpit is simsilar, but a little sleeker. The missile bays are different in design, but close to the original in terms of position no the ship. The missile bay under the cockpit is identical, except it's now a gunpoint.
Also, the engines are in the same position at the rear, except i wanted to try and create a 'stepped' effect there, rather than the older style rockets of the Valk 1. At the back of the Valk 1, it widens out to the engines - instead, I made it 'bulge' just before there, and moved the actual engines back a bit. This makes it looks a bit sleeker than the original (the neck is also longer).
Finally, I added the winglets at the front to try and 'balance' it with the wings, as they were far back. The 'tail' was added to try and break up the engines, and just to make it look better. I think the Valk 1 had two small wingletsw in a similar position.
So I think it is similar in design to the original (albeit not in the textures), but instead of using an adapted design, I placed the functional compenents of the ship in the same area, but modelled them differently.]
I'm certainly happy with it (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
