Firstly stop, calm down. Hear me out :)
I can't uninstall FreeSpace2. However my install of it has become corrupted - thus I have several hundred MBs of useless files. This is the error I get on uninstall:
However, my copy of FS2 is not installed to that directory. On trying changing the directory name anyway this happens:

Either way, I don't know what to do. Is there a program or method I need to continue with the uninstall, or am I going to have to format to get rid of this?

Delete the FS2 folder then run Scanreg to delete the old registry keys. Works for me when that happens.

 Lucky you put that in.
But yeah, that plan worked for me when mine got corrupted.

You can also re-install Freespace2 ontop of itself, then un-install it. That should cure your problem.

That happened when I tried to install game of the year edition and it wouldn't install all the way.. yet it wouldn't uninstall. I think I just ended up deleting the folder and that fixed most stuff for then
