What's the status of implementing opengl and directx in fs2_open? Is it complete? If not, what's left to do?
Can one provide an overview of the graphics engine freespace2 implements?

openGL is done, it's in 3.4, you just need to modify registry keys to get it working. We're going to provide a launcher to do this, so, patience.

DX8 is waiting for someone to merge it back into the main tree, it's got some performance issues, but it's basically done. No ETA as yet on that.

RT did a bit on an overview of the graphics stuff, lemme post a link (it will be on the main site soon).
