Title: Any new sci-fi games?
Post by: Valkyrie on January 04, 2003, 04:22:12 pm
Sorry for posting about this in here... but I think this is the right board, if not; Moderators please move\delete thread. Ok?

So... just wondering if there are any new cool csi-fi games similar to Freespace coming out that might be worth taking a look at. I already got my eyes on Aquanox: Revelations (//www.aquanox.de) but I want a space-sim too!!!

It's boring not to have anything to do at college... :sigh:

P.S. How come I can't have any avatars?

Wait, and they will come. Anticipation leads to dissapointment- projects planned usually don't survive, ones you've never heard of will.

Exactly. Look how few projects here survive to completion- companies are a bit better, because they need to make money, which they can only do by finishing projects, but that just means about 50% might see release someday.

Well we seem to have a good survival rate, but not a great productivity rate.

4 Out of 6 of my involved projects have or are going to release stuff in the next month or so, so it ain't too bad.

If by "survival" you mean how few are OFFICIALLY canceled. However, I think it's safe to consider a project nobody's really done anything at all on for three months dead.;)

well we have like .. *counts* 5 dead projects out of *counts* 25? That's not horrible. could be better but.. meh

EDIT: well 8 out of 28 if you count the officially dead ones..

I thought he was asking about games, not examples of how to do everything wrong in a piece of entertainment software (rule #1: listen to the customers)
