Anyone think there's any promise in this high poly model? I,ve just started and i,ve got doubts about whether i can actually do something with it, in truespace.
EDIT: For anyone wondering, its the engines and drive tubes that'll give it detail, as well as the hatches and stuff and combat sensors and combat wasp tubes and whether i can make those thermo-dump panals better.

The sphere needs more segments.
-
I think I've said it before to you on IRC, but I think a more "teardrop" shape would seem to fit more. But meh. I like the concept but it needs fleshing out.
-
Hmm... It's a ball. :blah:

High- poly?

Adamist ships are all spherical, due to the engineering constraints of the ZTT drive system.
-
"design reflects the limitations imposed by Adamist ZTT physics: the ZTT event horizon is perfectly spherical, so the fuselage is round and smooth"
I,ve made the fuselage more rounded.
Im trying to get it to look like this. That above is just the very beginning, i might as well post it before i end up losing interest.

Not quite....

The first book came out in 1996.
-
It's, ummm... Round! :)
-
That's well and good for theory. Render ships are supposed to look more or less cool, physics real or imagined be damned.
-
I think it does look l33t, with all its fiddy bits, which im trying to do. I think i'll put this project on the backburner for a few weeks and bump the topic when i,ve made the model.

only spherical ship I really like is battletech's dropship, otherwise...
that's just a sphere with things glued on it :blah:
there's not even good mapping to save it ( I talk about the "MacBeth" one ). Boring.

Yeah baby. The Lady MacBeth with Joshua Calvert on the command deck. :D
Now, someone model Tranquility, and some blackhawks and voidhawks. :D
-
It reminds me of a local comicbook's character's ship. I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

Eh? Which one?
-
:wtf:
There's just one local comic book character that has got a ship! A sphere-shaped ship...

I think I'm getting old. I had actually forgotten about that, you know? I remember it now.

I still can't understand how he manages to wear that uniform. It's not very practical.
