...Unless the FBI is after you, of course.
Here's my hometown and surrounding areas.
Veranópolis at night. I live 30 seconds from this place -walking, that is.

General landscape view, 5 minutes from town. A large hydroelectric power plant is being built right next to that bridge.
Ernesto Dorneles Bridge, ten minutes from town. It's the first bridge using parallel arcs (no pillars) ever built, and the third of the world in size (278 meters long). A few years ago I crossed it walking on one of the arcs.
A small waterfall, about fifteen minutes from town. There used to be a hydroelectric power plant here, now there are just ruins.
Três Monges waterfall, about ten minutes from town. It's 112 meters high.

Edit: Picture descriptions are good.

Nothing really notable about my immediate location (aside from my room, that is). One good thing is that they are building this huge array of single-family houses (some 2500) just a few streets away, so I get to see all these great construction machines at work. ;7 Washington DC is also a 25 minute drive from here. :D

... or it could imply that those pictures suck and I could take better ones this weekend, which wouldn't be plagerising at all, unless the city is somehow copywrited which would then make me an art theif. I think I could live with that.

heheh "whoop ass" grocery?
and what are the requirements for you to be able to walk around with a gun in Israel again? Don't you have to be in the millataryor reserves?
-
That seems like a very nice grocery shop!
And on a side note, I didn't know that that ice cream company was everywhere.

You need to have a permit/liscence. Getting that is another story. :p Basically, you need to have a need for a gun (live/work in Judea, Samaria or Gaza) or be an ex-military officer of a certain rank and up.

Around here it's very rare to see someone brandishing a gun on the streets, and the guy's usually a criminal. (not counting police forces, of course)
-
I don't think I've ever seen a real gun face-to-face before. Even the cops around here, most of them carry batons - and their guns are concealed.
-
Heh - here if you walk downtown without seeing at least 10 people (police, soldiers, or just regular civvies) with guns, you are clinically blind. ;)

Heh, for a couple months after September 11 my school had some police guys patrolling in front of the school carrying M16's and kevlar vests. Must've been boring though since all they did was stand around the whole day and watch for terrorists trying to blow up our school or something (and I'm not even in the US).

Did you even hear him talking about it on TV? I won't quote him just to prevent unnecessary embarrasment.
