Stop whining about wanting new ones, especially when they're campaign-related.
Next time I see someone whining about their user title they'll get it set to 'member'.
-
...and what if I whine about my current title?
:nervous:
-
i love my title :nod: i can't even remember who gave it to me at first, but i love it ;
-
This wasn't promped by that convo in the interview intenal was it?

Nooo....... we had it at 2500, but when we started with the avatars we removed it entirely.

you actually had that?
When DID you start with the avatars?
-
a long long time ago, wasn't it?
where's the thread where Setekh showed everyone the completed avatars?
-
We were giving out avatars before that..... I'd say by summer of 01, at the latest.
-
that had to be more than 1.4 years. Cuz when I registered they already had the large avatars. I remembers seeing Thorn with 6 of 'em..

Before that we had those biiig avatars. The only living example is WMCoolmon I think.
-
yeah, but what thread was it (can't find it, don't have time to find it) where he posts like 20 avatars, and people comment on them, etc. ;)
remember?
:D
-
found the thread ;) It's in the "HLP SUPPORT FORUM" when i ran a search for it, so if you can't access it, it's cause you don't have access:

here's the pictures if you don't have support forum access:

Hey, what avatar is the second row from top, far right... the "I"... i recognize all of them except for that one.

-
I don't need to complain, since I already got a good title. :D ;7
That image is pretty old though; how about doing another one with all the new projects that have come up since then?
-
AP, DatDB, TVWP, SA, SWTC
...and that is all that I can think of off of the top of my head...
-
I wonder what my title is...never bothered to check it...think it was Firewalker...or something.

Sounds silly to me to want a change your user name anyway, my question would be why? :wtf:
Would you change the name of your pet, hell no, why, well to be frank the little or big critter would just sit there and look at you like wtf.. :wtf:
-
nonono.. titles.
titles = the little name under your name. In your case, under "whitelight" it says "member". Tht is the User Title.
oh, and 4000 posts. Boo ya.

I doubt that term is racist. I think the phrase just means that someone is criticizing something that they in fact are guilty of - analagous (more or less) to "physician, heal thyself". Stealth called KT a spammer, and 01010 suggested that Stealth himself was a spammer.
And I also have a hunch that Stealth's reply was less than serious. ;)
-
it had to be a kettle.
It wouldn't work in my mind the other way..

It his way of posting in a thread that he would in no other way have any reason to say anything. The whole thing is kinda ironic..
At least we all learned a lesson out of this.
-
K T thanks for correcting me, on the title thing... One of my speak before I think moments i guess...

Titles should be earned, not asked for. There's no point otherwise.
Oh, and I love mine. It even has italics.
-
i was kidding when i said that, no one take offense

I'd guessed, I wouldn't worry yourself about it :)
-
Guys, something you have to get clear (for some of you will be a reminder, but for others this may be new).
You do not ask for titles. At all. Titles at HLP have always been a gift from the admins to the forum members. We give them based on the person you are and what distinguishes you from others.
CP is the perfect example (he'll love this). He did not ask for his title. He did not even expect his title. But his title fits his personality... he loves his maths. :D
For the record, we did for a short time try letting people decide their own titles. But everyone (forum members, I mean) quickly realised that the titles became meaningless once they no longer had to earn them. So please, be satisfied with this system, and don't make it a chore.
-
:o
-
i'm happy with mine..

Just embarassed because I asked for a new one...
-
Well, like I said, the less said about it the better. Don't worry about it now - it's in the past - but maybe this will teach you to remember to gently stop the new ones whenever they pipe up about the same topic. :)

Gently as in softly-careingly gently, or shotgun-therapy gently?
I prefer the latter.
-
hmm....
*guesses my first title's gonna be something like "spammerage 101"*
-

You-realise-you've-made-the-same-mistake-before gently. :p
-
Wrong thread to ask for a title huh? :)
-
make 010101's title "binary masta" :D ;)
I got my first title when i first got hosted, i remember i thought getting a "custom title" meant you could change it when you want, and an admin just 'enabled' it on your username account. So whoever first gave me a title (which i begged for) they (the admin) just put "Get Stealthy!" as the title, and i never asked for more. I don't know where it came from or anything, but anyway ;)
-
I think you can change your title if you're a moderator. That's how I got mine - I was able to change it when I became moderator for the TVWar forum, which was around the time I released Deus Ex Machina. :D
-
I'm quite happy with mine.. better than the previous... :ick
I still want to know who did that....
If it was Shrike there's gonna be a mess to clean up in Port Moody....
-
how tha hell can everyone ealse have a custom title and i USED to have one myself? wtf?
-
I like my title, too. :D

Bah, if I was going to give you a 'patriotic canadian' title, it'd be something like beaver lover.....
-
You give me my current title....

Really? Must have been a non-creative day then.

Die...

For that to work you need an extra word like "**** of doom". Unless you meant **** off .
Todays grammar lesson brought to you by the letters drunk.

Silly, he meant it as said. **** off would be too enjoyable.

I stand corrected. :D

Thorn's Title
Beaver Hunter
What's wrong with hunting up a little beaver now and then?
:D
-
Animal rights activists. :D
-
I Get the impression that he didn`t mean the animal (bever) but the female of our species:lol:
Being married I should steer clear of such issues, but I couldn`t resist this one:D

you have to understand thorn here...he is a patriotic canadian, and shrike is making fun of him for that with his title...
-
Heh. It works on so many levels.
-
oooh, now I understand :)
-

-
His recently changed title actually was "Patriotic Canadian". He earned it for having this link (http://www.standonguard.com/) in his signature for a while.

True, very true

The "**** off" part wasnt necessary... I've said it enough that its generally understood that I'm saying it..
I say again Shrike.... Die....

Yep, people have totally misunderstood what a Geezer actually is. I recall the day the year divided up into the Geezers and another group and proceeded to beat each other up.
-
Geezer: eccentric old man. :p

-
Uh, its Slang. Meaning a person who is abit "way" abit "whoa". Its from the 'Fast Show'.
-
My title needs to be cooler. Preferably with car chases, hot naked chicks, and explosions. And a giant parade baloon of Mickey Mouse spraypainted orange and tied to the antenna on the Chrysler Building.

Once the revolution comes, requesting such bourgeoisie frills will get you purged, comrade.
-
There was a commie at school. She had this CCCP jacket on, with a hammer and sickle badge, sad thing is, this aint no joke.
-
I want to get a hammer and sickle badge. I think it'll go well with my US Army jacket. :drevil:
-
Hmm... Cool. Inaccurate, technically, but I like. Thanks.:D
-
Now I expect good behavior from you for at least 24 hours. I'm not going to expect more. :p
-
Hmm...
I'll see what I can do.:D
-
This is my 2nd/4th title, I believe.
First I was "Member" :p
Then I was "Underground Ops"
Then I was "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"
Then back to "Underground Ops"
I think I had a 2-line title at 1 point. Both "Underground Ops" and "Saviour of Capella"
Don't worry, I like my title :p
I still remember how I first discovered HLP completely by accident. I submitted news about my new module announcement, I believe it was, to Ross128, and Thunder went and posted it here :p
-
you need to tell your "Saviour of Capella" story again...
-
What is this? The 42nd time? :p
-
There are people here who haven't heard it...
-
Then they can hit the search button.
