This came out of thin air. Very cool.
Hmm... on 9/28, the demo was "very close" to being finished, and only now it's out. How long will it take for the whole thing to be released? :shaking:
-
DLing now :)
Is this supposed to be like a prequal to the main campaing?

Yea, like the beginings sorta. You won't be dissapointed me thinks.
-
*wasnt dissapointed*
-
Yeah its a bit of a prequel. The demo's plot pretty much leads straight into the first half of the campaign which sets up the second half of the campaign.
Wooo! :D
-
Meh. :( Can't get it. Maybe the servers are too busy for 56k ers like myself.
-
no :( not on 3ddownloads... I was never able to download any file from them... (it's almost 5 years that I'm on the net, now). Well, guess I should wait for some mirror :(

I could give you a mirror at FilePlanet, but I'm not sure if you'd love me or hate me for that. ;)

Great Work, but let me point out a two things that really dont mather, but here they are.
1 you accidently included the FRED2 backup files.
2 EDIT, well a certain model created by Dark has been updated, but unfourtantly you will have to download FS1port v 2.0 to get it.
It got paths, Fighterbay, dockpoints etc.
-
hmm...it keeps randomly crashing on me...

One or two bugs:
One face is missing on a "foot" of that pear shaped vasudan installation
Mission 3 (i think, the one where you had to bomb the corv's) it wouldn't validate one of my objectives and so the mission had no debreifing.
other than that it was cool:yes:
-
actualy 2 faces were missing:p

Great work dudes! I have played it through now and found it very good! Lots of surprises and twists considering its only four missions, and good voiceacting.
I like the composition of the nebula backgrounds, but the white/gray parts had some colour banding (or is that only on my system?).
A funny thing happened in the mission with the medical ships taken hostage - first time I played it I we got to close, the hostage ships were detonated and we were told to depart. I told my wingmates to depart but hung around a while to try to figure out what had happened - and then my departed wingmates started talking  . It was slightly confusing .
Looking forward to the main release. / Faf

Yes, very good - I found it hard to believe that all that plot was able to fit in 4 missions! :)
But the third mission is rather confusing. As soon as I started, I afterburned toward the corvettes, then the medical frigates blew up and Command told me to depart. Then Mallory told everybody not to engage. A little late, I thought. :) This needs fixing up so it's a bit clearer.
-
lol, I launched 4 helios ( or whatever bomb it was ) before I was told not to attack :D Didn't prevent me from going through the whole mission tho, which was quite easy compared to the one before ( I lost a frigate tho )
-
Dammit now i have to buy a joystick, great to see some new missions, thanks.
-
I also noticed those bugs plus a smaller one. The line spoken by the first Geb where is says something about doing anything to protect the scion was attributed to command since the Geb had been destroyed.
-
Ooooo, big campaign finally gets demo out! Woo Hoo!
Very good! Some points, though:
>The third mission IS very confusing. I reckon you should have the hostage messages right at the start, and put the player entry further away - you start in bombing range! It's too tempting to just let fly the moment the level starts.
>Some of the messages were in a funny order. I had to F4 and read through 'em again to make sense.
>The white b/g nebulas are 'orrible! They need to be high-res, cos they look weird as they are.
AWESOME demo though!
If the main campaign ends up half this good I'll be well happy!:p
