Actually, that's pretty close to the actual Norse Runic Alphabet

most of those runes are norse, yes.
this is the origin 24 runes

it later was rationalised down to 16 runes, as some of the sounds stopped being used. or rather, two sets of 16 runes.

hmm... I'm using the swedish meaning of that word, and I was kinda sure that it was about the same in that cut-and-paste language of english too.
