I am way new here, but I've seen some hella cool mods out there. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to get 'em.
I'd like some fighters to replace the Apollo, Valkyrie, Ulysses, Athena, and Ursa bombers as well as the Orion destroyer and Fenris cruiser.
However, I dunno what works with FS1 and what doesn't, plus where to D/L the stuff.
The SOCv Rapier and SOCa Rosemerta have caught my eye, but these aren't available as far as I can tell. The GTB Grizzly has also got my attention.
Also, has anyone extracted the Vampire from WCP yet? If not, I may.
Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx.

the best way to get better ships for FS1 is to buy FS2.

FS2 really is worth the buy if you like FS1. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) I'm a convert myself. You can find it pretty cheap, I'm sure...used, it should only be $10-15 or so, $20 max. Even new, it will only be 20-something...

The ships you named are not ment for FS1 most of us like me (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) only mod FS2. The GTB grizzly is now named the GTB Juton and is used in the Inferno campaing <---p!mp (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) and isn't up for d/l. But this one ("http://www.fileplanet.com/dl/dl.asp?3dactionplanet/freespace/banshee.zip") you can replace the Valk..you only need modelview to convert it to FS1 .POF format. The best thing is to buy FS2 save's you alot of time converting.

Firstly - welcome to HLP! Enjoy your stay, try not to break anything. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
And, yeah - get FS2, if you can find it. It's a no-brainer (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Jotun damnit, not juton, jotun! I told you 100 times (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)

Juton - (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)! Sounds like an uncomfortable Japanese bed. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Could be worse - he could have called it the GTB 'Futon' (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Okay, FS2. That's gonna be about like trying to find Wing Commander Prophecy Gold. I'll probably have to hit the nearest software specialty store, but I'll probably get it. I'd like to play through FS1 first. The Medusa and Hercules are some sierra hotel fighters.
Anduril, do I knopw you?
-
Not that I know of. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
-
You don't mod for SFC? Must be a different Anduril then.
-
Must be. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
-
Hmmm... must be me... never really saw Anduril as a very common name... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif) Where's that come from, btw? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
Might be time to resurrect the self-description thread...

Anduril? that's Lord of the Rings, so I take you don't have begin to read it yet, so you better move your a$$ (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
