PA gets first dibs since I haven't done much for them in a while, but if they don't want it, my new SF Belial Interceptor mod will be open to any who want it.

The Belial Heavy Interceptor is a top-of-the-line fighter, with 12 primary banks, a single fair-sized missile rack, and extremely good maneuverability and speed. Unfortunately, the Belial's delicate frame was apparently constructed with maximizing firepower in mind, rather than physical durability, and so the Belial relies almost entirely on its strong shields to stay alive in battle- a quick beam weapon hit or even a high-speed collision should be enough to take one down.

Isn't the belial already in FS2? (not sure tho)
Nice ship, but not very shivan IMO. What's the polycount?

Hmmm... Belial is the name of the Cyclops POF... and the polys are... high.
288[head]+(480x2[2 body parts])=... whatever it is. I'm gonna shrink it for the ingame version, probably cut the body polys in half...

Hmmm... this can't be right... I just dropped the body to 30 polys apiece, and it looks exactly the same... Probably some RDS thing (it doesn't count polys very well). Still, something is very wrong here... Get back to you guys in an hour or so.

Looks like it has to do with smoothing...if smoothing is set at much of an angle, then it can hide the polycount pretty well sometimes.

I don't think so. Check if the prog shows the polycount or the face count.

Polygons- polys. I said polys. But I did use a special wapring procedure that may have changed the poly count after I modeled it (it's just a flattened morphed cone- I love RDS (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)) Anyway, if I manage to DL TrueSpace this time (Getting a nasty bout of connection breaks 80% of the long way through), I can fix it anyway.

Nice model, but the Belial is already used in FS2 - not only is it the name of the POF of the Cyclops, but there is a Shivan sentry gun designated Belial.

Hmm the name Belial is already taken by the Shivan quad-tureted sentry gun.
If you want another name, I would suggest the SF Geryon or the SF Ladon. Both are monsters in Greek mythology, although I have no clue what the Ladon was supposed to be and only heard a reference to it once, as one of the monster children of Nemesis.
Geryon, on the other hand, was weird. He had 1 head but 3 bodies, all physically connected, was about 9 feet tall, and had a good time throwing boulders at a nearby village until he was killed by Jason of the Argo. (Note: Geryon is used as the name of a Lilith-class cruiser in Warzone.)

Now that it has been claimed, I'll let the campaign fanfic writers do all that work. I believe it will be used for another race anyway, since that thing doesn't look very Shivan and I believe they are juggling about 1000000000000 other races in PA.
Be advised that whatever I do to reduce it, the model will remain over 500 polys.
