Title: System Shock 1 & 2 sounds online ?
Post by: Warlock on January 15, 2003, 12:05:48 am: After checking out the mp3 Zylon posted in the other System Shock vs Helios (or something) I had an idea for an adventure for my RPG group and was wondering if there are any more mp3 or wav files out there of that computer core.

Basically anything I can use to make the RPG that much creepier ;7

Post by: ZylonBane on January 15, 2003, 09:55:41 am: Think of this as the perfect excuse to go pick up (or...sigh...download) copies of SS1 and SS2. All the sounds in SS1 are packed into a single big file (although I think there's a media browser tool someone wrote for it). All the SS2 sounds are WAVs in ZIP files.

1: I'm not normally a fan of FPS games
2: With work being slow lately I've got other things to put the $ into :(

I MIGHT download it if only for the sound files,..just didn't know if any sites online might already have them posted.

I did download the demo and try it ,... didn't really suit my tastes and I don't want to spend $20 on a game just to rip sounds out and unintall it ;)

There, the ambient sound from the computer core in the demo(if that's what you meant) and some other one that I find extremely freaky when played in a loop.

Just checked them out...not bad at all. Actualy what I'm looking for most is actual sounds of SHODAN (I'm found perhaps 10 online thus far) and things like the "They se you ....run ....run" that's playing here in the thread (I did copy that BTW :D )
For ambient sounds ,....hehe...I'm actually using a few FS1&2 files :) Plus the Funeral and Syphon sound MODs from back in the day.

Best part is thus far I've given my GF and my groups main GM (Who's a player in this) nightmares from testing out the sounds I have now ;7

If you mean SS and SS2 ... from what I've read online all the sounds are in the snd amd snd2 crf files, which will open in winzip, winrar etc.

Hmmm... I actually have quite a bit of SHODAN speech already extracted. I could ZIP it up when I get home this evening.

That would be great man ! :) I'm after all the files I can get. Being this will be my first P & P RPG that I've run using actual sounds (aside from background music) I'm after as much as I can get my greedy hands on ;)

Now I've just got to figure out how to play the .SNC files for the SS2 songs and try to get at least the CD version SS1 intro song.
