So, would y'all consider the SCP version of FreeSpace safe enough to reliably replace the original version of the game on a lot of boxes? I was thinking of recommending it to HOTU, where it'd get wide release, because of its DivX capabilities, among other things.
Er... and if anyone has a problem with that, let me know, I can scratch the whole thing. But I thought it'd be a nice way to get both new recruits here and HLP's name out there.

It doesn't currently have DivX capabilities...
Safe? It seems stable, and we're constantly bug hunting, can you email me with more information on what you need?
-
Mostly just wanted to know if it was stable enough for wide release- i.e. hasn't locked up too many computers so far.
But when's the DivX thing happening? I thought that was near the top of the list...

YARGH! ITS NOT DIVX EXCLUSIVE!

is it?

no. it can use whatever codec you have installed. but anyway the codec choice is up to those who make the cutscenes.

Very near the top of the list is getting the movie player code out of the DX branch, I've made a couple attempts, so, best I can say is soon.
If you want an idea of it's stability, page thru bugzilla, we have , under 100 logged bugs, and the crash bugs seem to be all gone. So, I think it's stable.
Shoot me an email.
