Title: Fade in/out effects
Post by: Ulundel on January 23, 2003, 01:13:31 pm
Is there a way to turn still images into animations and make them fade in or out? Or if not animation, then just frames... :)

And can you save them as different frames using flash?

Any other ways BTW?

if you have an animation, you can save each frame as a seperate SWF, GIF, JPEG, or whatever

so yeah, you can

EDIT:  or you can export the complete animation as a GIF, etc. etc. etc.

!?

are you implying that i'll do it for you when you haven't even asked?

download the Flash demo, and do it yourself, that kind of thing is incredibly easy

if you want i can post the steps what you should do, it's like 5 steps ;)

trie animation shop, it comes with PSP, it's nit that great for anything really big. (longer then 1min or bigger than 800*600). but it's great to create a slideshow like thing woth some basic effects. it's slow as heck without enough ram, i think 128 is a minimum.64 will work, but it gets unreliable.

then you select, either as beginning or ending frame, either an empty frame or opaque color.

I'm pretty sure it's possible in SVG 1.1 for XML...

Call me hopelessly outdated, but I do all my fading in manually with opacity and layers, :) in PSP.

Usually me too. But it'd be hell to make hundreds of frames manually.

If this is all he wants, SwisH would be better - so much easier. ;)

/me kicks Ten of Twelve for not specifying the target media

Do you want to deliver this fade animation to a web page? A video file? A stand-alone executable? What?

Your question is like asking, "I want to attach two things together. How do I do it?"

Why?  from what i know SwIsH is like coffeecup firestarter... it saves to SWF format, but with a very easy to learn interface, right?

cause in Swish he'd get the very same thing, at best...

True, but regardless whether he wants it for a webpage, video file, or standalone executable... Flash can export to all three formats :D ;)

Precisely. It's much weaker, but for things like text effects - where it's simply a pain to script every single letter if they're to do slightly different things - Swish does it all for you. And it's not like Swish would generate something sub-standard to Flash, it generates exactly the same thing (much cheaper, too).
