Hey guys, does anyone of you have the software for microsoft sidewinder force feedback pro version 1.5?
I got 3 and 3.2 and both don't really help me and since I was told from someone that 1.5 might be good for my ancient win 98 comp, I hope that I can get it from one of you.
Note: I hope this ain't illegal or so, since I bought a cd with version 3.0, it'll be more like a downgrade which MS doesn't offer.

Just to double check - have you tried searching the web and/or Kazaa? You'd be amazed what Kazaa can turn up when you need utility stuff (long as it's nothing you're supposed to be paying for... :nervous:... ahem)

Yes Kazaa doesn't have it and the web offers mostly upgrades and i didnt find a downgrade for it yet

Tried FileMirrors (www.filemirrors.com)? Helps if you know an actual file name, or part of one, but it's not a bad place to look. Failing that, get in touch with Microsoft?
Oh, and sorry I didn't notice this before, but welcome to the VBB :)

Thnx, contacting MS might work, but their troubleshooters are only ridiculous... anyway it's worth a try.

I might. I'll have a look when I get home, as I have has a MS FF Pro since 1996. It will almost certainly be a large file and it may not have the software in German (it should), but I am sure that it will work, as I use it on my PC, which runs 98.
One word of warning - if I can find it and it isn't too big (<10-15 MB, compressed), then it will be sent as a RAR archive, as it offers the best compression. Get WinRAR at http://www.rarsoft.com (I think).

I already have win RAR so that won't be a problem ;)
Besides that, the versions 3.0 and 3.02 have a size of about 8Mb if I recall right, so the older versions won't be much bigger.
umm and well, about the english version: I don't want to use it everyday and installing it isn't so much different to german ones I think.

Got it. Version 2.0, but it works on my Win98 SE system. It does have a German version and it is of size 5.89 MB, compressed. PM me your e-mail address and I will send it to you.
When you extract it into a new directory, (call it SWGame20_FF, which is what the CD's volume name is), you will need to create a new directory called Directx (the case probably is important) in the SWGame20_FF directory and in there needs to go a version of DirectX (preferably an 'unpacked' DirectX 5, which is what is on the CD).
You probably can use DirectX 8 or whatever the most recent version that you have is and rename the install executable to dxsetup.exe when it is in that directory.
I can't e-mail you the complete DirectX and drivers, as it is 108MB uncompressed, and I can't squish it enough.
