Title: Explain the human indocity when u do this...
Post by: deep_eyes on January 30, 2003, 09:36:11 am: How do you go on national TV, 4 times, and each time you do a paternatiy test on Maury, and u tested 22 men, for 1 child, and they call come back negative, and act as if your not an embarassment?

im watching the show now and im just amazed on how one woman could confuse and "know for sure" some dude that they daughter father, but does it 22 times?! thats a damn shame...:(

(edit: and whats messed up his they just did another test in the 23rd & 24th dude, and they aint the father!)

I've never understood how shows like that can be so popular. I remember when I was at college all the student-sitting-areas had tv's. I had to walk by one of them on the way to one of my classes and I'd see a huge crowd in the area, all huddled up and yelling. I'm thinking, "Cool, a fight!" (Something about school fights always draws a crowd) and rush over. When I finally get close enough to see what was going on, everyone was watching Jerry Springer and cheering for whoever was on at the time (no, I didn't wait around to see what the show was about). And that became the norm there: huge crowds of students watching Springer.

I never understood peoples need in publicly displaying their dirty laundry, either. But that's just me.

You think American Idol is bad, you should see the program that spawned it. Pop Idol here in the U.K.

I personally am ****ing disgusted at the entire concept, you see, over here it's middle class, middle age white ****s that dictate what the listening audience (apparently 8-14 yr old girls) want to hear, they have so much influence over what (I consider to be) normal people get to hear its ****ing ludicrous.

01010 got a point... american idol is just hideous, and now the producers are intentionally setting up contestants to be joked on by simon, hell in fact my point of the thread shouldnt have been that of the one women who had 23 paternaty tests done, but american daytime-talk shows! hell if u seen the movie 15 minutes these color comentary talk show hosts really talk about how bad there genre can be if it was so one sided.

jerry springer even said that if all of tv was like his show, thats horrible, if all tv was like "pure" censorship and total "non-badstuff", thats even worse. so its like, wheres the balance of idiocity and humanity?
