Title: Noooooooo! *kills himself*
Post by: Ulundel on January 30, 2003, 11:15:50 am
:mad2: This is hell!

I've worked about 6 hours on a really cool battle render with dozens of effects. And now when I start to render it, something appears wrong with beam effects. I don't change anything but just render it again. And what do I get - every time I try to render it now, it tells me that max has caused an error and needs to be closed. And no matter what I do, still the same.

I work for ****ing 6 hours and get ziltch. :mad2:

****! *opens Lightwave to show everyone how much he hates Max*

THIS is why you make multiple copies of things for a long job.

I have copies but since the error is coming from a certain lens effect (which basically is the whole point of this render), I have no use of them.

MAX tends to srew up lens effects sometimes. Nothing you can really do about it.

Why are you using MAX for space renders if you have LW?

because LW is not better?
never had any pbs with lense effects btw. only the Starfield effect.
ToT, hav you tried moving your lense effect in the video post list, dunno, put it first or something? it often fixes problems. if that fails, check if the effect is not longer or shorter than the effectice animation sequence ( yeah, even if you just render the first frame for a still shot ).

It isn't? I always thought LW was better than MAX for rendering purposes, especially space scenes. I don't own LW though so I don't know.

I've sometimes had strange occurances when a certain scene refuses to use a certain lens effect. You can move it around in video post, remove it, put it back, but it just doesn't work.

Of course this is MAX 3, so newer versions may not have these problems.

Max 0wns, I have LW to just fill up my HD. :p

And it only happens when using lens glows.

lens plugin? lens effect is a built in feature of the builtin videopost module. the only way to do that is to reinstal max.

Well then... MAX sucks- get a modular program. Or reinstall it if you want it to work.

Yeah, it rocks. When you really want to screw things up and piss yourself off.

Nothing, it still sometimes doesen't like the lens glow...well, that means I have to quit rendering and model something.

I'm like the Candy-man. Say my name a few times and wait till I get really bored and I'll appear.

It seems that I found the bug. It gives the error when I'm making an output event...

It's much worse when you loose a 500 framed animation where you worked two days because windows decided to rape you to death. I had this several times and it SUCKS!.

But LW still RULES!:D

try losing a 10,000 frame Flash movie ;)
(well, a couple of them... divided into like 6 parts)
