Title: Beams
Post by: fs2freak88 on January 30, 2003, 06:29:28 pm
Something wierd is happening...as usual lol. Anyway, for a mission i'm creating, i inserted a Moloch class corvette. Then i commanded it to fire its beams by that beam-free-all thingie. The beams wouldn't work. Then, I tried a Cain and a Lilith and it worked on both of them. hmmmm......any solution? The sexp command was the same for all the cruisers.

Well make sure you have beam free and not turret free.. as they are confused easily

Secondliy, you want to make sure the beams are within range of anything hostile.

3rd, make sure thye are within firing arcs (generally if you can see the turret, it can see you)

4th, make sure none of your ships are beam protected.

5th, make sure your ships are armed with beams in the first place.

...is Mr Moloch present when the beam free all event occurs? If a ship warps in in the middle of a mission, but the SEXP is just "beam free all" without an event or time conditional, then fred sets the ship to beam free all when it isnt in the game yet, and so has no effect.
Try
When
     has arived
      SCv Moloch
beam-free-all
      SCv Moloch.

Thats caught me out a few times

We haven't had any snow, as Brighouse (my home town) is in a valley. It seems that the entire North has had snow except us.

I wish it would snow.  I'm from the land of snow.  But here in Vancouver it is like living in an alternate reality.  There is no winter here: January seems more like March.  The lack of snow is disturbing to me.

There was much more snow this time around than last winter but the season has more or less ended; just some cold weather now. I don't really care too much seeing as I almost never go out, but I like any kind of weather that makes it darker than usual and thus allows me to play games in the daytime. :D

btw what does this have to do with the original topic? :wtf:

The topic is dead.  You may mourn its passing.  Drop a flower onto its silent tomb, if you will.  But the rest of us move on, and talk about the weather...

Something sinister is going on when we, supposedly intelligent people, are reduced to talking about the weather.
