Make several missions that use the new features in FS2_Open as a demo. Include all the new features like ballistic primarys, glow-points, glow-maps, fighter-beams; the works.
Maybe it'll get more people interested.
That would be cool. :)

With the included tables and effects, all in one zip. I think that's an excellent way to demo the new features and show how to use them.

There are a lot of new features! :lol:
If you're willing to wait for the TVWP demo, it'll have most of the new SCP features included. We're still waiting on some models before we can start FREDding, though.

While we're at it... here's something I'd like... why not have a music preview feature in FRED? When you pick the briefing music or ingame music, there should be a little arrow you can click to preview that track. The only problem would be extracting the music from the VP.

Actually, that shouldn't be too hard at all. I believe that's already implemented in FRED.

That's my exact thought. Especialy the "how to use them", I can never get anything to work.
Hell, I tried so many times to make a ballistic weapon and it just won't work...either that or FS2_open crashes on me :D

A two or three mission campaign includedwith each official build would be good (along with notes to briefly explain how the fancy new stuff was implemented)

actually i tried that and it didn't
or the fighter beams, shivans don't lnow how to use them and you can't fire them more than about 7 times, oh and you cant set them to pulse either

Actualy, the only thing I did get to work was the fighter beams.
I think making a more detailed tutorial about how to use the new features is needed for people like me who try and try to get things working, but always fail. It would really help.

follow those directions carefully, and if it still doesn't work, then :confused:

That's what happened. I'm sure I did something wrong somewhere.....
What I'm trying to say is that an official manual would be nice.

All the primaries in FS are already ballistic.

no they arn't, there pixelixic, we want weapons that make the monitor actualy fly off along an unpowered arch
