Interplay want to know, which of its franchises should it work on (http://www.interplay.com)
well well it seems Interplay is actually thinking of utilizing some of their licences (amazing bit of buisness sense eh), and they're holding a poll on their main page.
It seems the main contenders are Fallout vs Descent.
And since Descent is kinda like the forebearer to Freespace (or something..uh spiritual kin), I think it would be a good idea to vote.
Usualy I'de say that its pointless to try to tell Interplay what to do, but they're asking so might as well.
Oh yeah, BTW this topic if from the VWBB so you may already know. See I'm an optimist and I believe (especially when they ask the community) that this might lead to something so please vote (excessivley) and spread awareness to others for them to vote.
-
look closely at that link
-
my bad..well you get the idea
ok its fixed now
-
INTERPAY!! HAHAHA
-
Hey...Descent is currently winning by 53%
-
Fallout: 44%
Descent: 53%
Go!![/b]
-
I voted 10 min ago:)
-
Just voted....
comon.... DESCENT!
-
I voted Fallout. Descent sucks :p
-
you're gay
i voted descent
-
hehe, good you voted, now do it again..and again..and again
maybe we could get someone to hack the site and raise descent to like 90% hehe j/k
-
Descent is winning at 52% instead of 53%.
:sigh:
-
REdNECK RAMPAGE!!!!!!!!11111111
Interpay = super mario ?
-
Interplay created a couple Mario games here and there.
But they weren't like the ones on the Nintindo.
-
Voted for it. Too bad there is no Freespace there, though. :p
-
Too bad Descent has such a steep learning curve; I love those games. I remember playing Descent ][ over the summer break through the night, only going to bed when my parents woke up. :)
Why oh why isn't the Freespace liscence on there.... perhaps if they get the Descent liscense that will lead them gradually into the Freespace liscence?
-
I played and modded to death the first two Descent games for four years; D2 was what really got me into level and mod designing.
-
Voted for Descent.
Once in Mozilla ("primary" browser these days) and once with IE :D
Seemed to work :drevil:
-
People are starting to vote for Fallout...
-
Guys, quit trying to stuff the poll. Either do it right or don't do it at all. I find it pathetic that people want to ruin polls like this JUST for the sake of winning.
-
i wonder if they still want to work with Orbital ;)
-
Dude, make it fair.
I think I'd better let the Fallout fanboys on about this, if they don't know. In all objectivity, Fallout IS the far better game.
-
speak for yourself, I preferred descent
-
Yes, but I said "in all objectivity", which automatically makes me right.:p
-
But spaceships are just....better
-
No, nukes and Mad Max scenarios are better.
At any rate, Fallout HAS spaceships. Just, you know... crashed ones.
-
i prefer mine flying around and kicking the poo out of silly radiation-suited people wandering around an isometric environment :p
-
I love both fallout and descent, and, sorry, I voted fallout. much more replayability. but it's a tough choice.
-
damnit..look fallout is popular enough to get a sequel anyways
its not ruining the poll, they're asking which do you prefer. I'm sure that there are opther out there voting multiple times for fallout, so i'm uh..offsetting it..
just dont be bastards, vote descent:)
-
I never played any Fallout games but have spent over a third of my gaming life with the Descent series, so I obviously went for that. The poll apparently lets you vote more than once, though. :wtf:
You know, does Descent have any connection to Freespace as far as the licenses go? (i.e. if another Descent comes out, will that mean anything for the chances of another Freespace?)
-
No.
-
Yay! Descent's on 50%. :D
-
voted descent
Descent Rules

*Pulls out the good ol D1 plasma cannon from his closet and shoots at Pera* Wow the thingy still works like a charm.
Well since FS3 is not an option, Descent it is then. :D
-
GO FREESPACE
-
well, i've voted for descent 'cause another fallout game is an inevitability
if there is an another fallout game i hope blackisle handle it 'cause 14 degrees east did'nt do such a good job at BOS
another descent would be fun i've played the first two in full (and the third in demo) just needs more open areas though, like flying through cities..

"pats his D2 GAUSS gun"
plasma cannon? bwarhaha :D
-
argh, it's falling to 49... :p
The Gauss cannon (along with the Helix) is still one of my favorite weapons in any game. Brutally effective against everything.
-
[unloads H&K G90 into posters]
Hah.
-
*dusts off vindicator minigun*
booyeah
-
erm...unless I'm mistaken...freespace falls under the decent licence. The first one was marketed as Decent: Freespace, and their big marketing scheme was "out of the tunnels". Freespace 2 was released as a sequel to Freespace, so it seems like FS2 should fall under the Decent licence...
-
and not forgetting half of parralax is volition..
-
[merely mentions the name "pulse rifle" and watches everyone vaporize]
Anal: Descent: Freespace mighta been, but the whole "descent" bit was kinda a marketing thing. Since FS2 could hold its own merely by being the sequel to FreeSpace, all pretences that it's just another Descent were gone. They're treated as completely different series, at any rate, so if Interplay says Descent it means Descent, otherwise it woulda said Freespace.
-
I am just shocked that they think they could be able to make another Descent given that Parallax is fully beond there power

meh :blah:
-
I'm shocked they're asking
maybe they got new improved management, now with 30% more smarts hehe
