Title: A-Level Coursework
Post by: an0n on February 02, 2003, 02:04:08 pm
Please, dear God, if any of you do A-Level Chemistry or Biology and have coursework on your computer, E-mail it to me. I just remembered that I had some Biology coursework to hand in on FRIDAY. Trouble is, I suck at coursework.

I'm not asking for something to plagerise or re-word, I just need something where I can see what the lay-out needs to be like and what kinda junk needs to be in it as quite frankly, I have no ****ing idea.

If you've got anything (with some form of structure), planning sheets, rough lay-out notes, complete essays, anything at all; please, please, please send it to [email protected] or post a link to it here. Alternatively, make use of THIS (http://www.fattonys.com/images) and post here that you've uploaded something along with the filename.

Muchos Gracias.

Best of luck, I've been there - ain't no fun.

I can't help but feel essay-bank is gonna end up being wholey inadequate. This girl chum of mine has a 9-page introduction. Nine frickin pages for her INTRODUCTION!

And, yes, I already tried to get hers, but she didn't have the disk on her and for some stupid reason she doesn't have the internet.

*curses the technologically challenged and goes to copy-down the structuring of the essay-bank thingamajig*

I've got 4 hours to do 3 months worth of coursework. God, I love my life.

How can you say that? It's much better than Chem and Physics...

Probably because I don't really care what goes in inside my cells and what enzymes break down what, how atp is made and so on. Biology should be discting animals.

But you care less about how people live than how a house is insulated - or how electrolysis occurs? Shocking indeed!
Title: A-Level Coursework
Post by: Knight Templar on February 02, 2003, 04:31:51 pm
Care less? well it depends on the level. On the level i'm studying right now, yes. It doesn't seem much like living and I guess things like insulation, as dull as it may be, applies to everyday life ( and don't say so does living :p) so it holds my attention more.

*did Physics last year and does Biology and Chemistry this year*

Out of the three, Physics is the easiest. You gotta remember like 20 forumlas and that's it. Biology and Chemistry you've gotta remember like 400 names, loads of rules and all the exceptions.

Anyway, more links/files please.

Well, it looks like I'll be skipping Biology tomorrow.

Infact, I think I've gotta go to the dentist anyway. So it'll only be like what........4 days late. Actually, make that 11 days late. She already gave my class a week's extension on the dead-line.

I'm sooo ****ed.

Mmmm, Advanced Higher maths revision - prelim on tuesday.

Currently i'm tackling this beauty:

Evaluate [integral]dx/((9-x^2)^1/2) between x=1 and x=4, using the substitution x=3sint

Yey for maths! :sigh: Where's CP when you need him?

well I have a **** load of assorted notes all in no particular order in my binder.
That would require scanning, which takes time. And you kinda seem out of it.

hmm I have Enzyme Properties.. Determining System Efficiency, **** from that experiment (You have a beaker with 100ml of a water/Hy Perox/Catalse solution and you dip paper dots in different concentrations of yeast and then put them in the perox solution to see how long it takes them to float to the top :doubt: )

Craploads of papers on ATP and Cellular Respiration. An enzyme study guide that looks like it has been soiled, yet reeks of mens cologne (dunno what I did with that one :blah: ) Energy changes, and and natural selection.

Actually, you'd be suprised how much you can bluff with the right teacher.

I was shocked when I got my final back with a B on it and the words "Nice commentary!". especially after I wrote different onamonopeias (sp?) over across my paper and ended my summary of atp with "...which allows my hands to carry out my evil bidding."

Firstly: There's like three inches of snow outside.
Secondly: The acting in Cruel Intentions 2 sucks ass, but the woman are soooo ****ing hot.
Thirdly: ARGH! I can't work. I've got an open Word window and every time I try to type, I either come back here or stare mindlessly at Cruel Intentions 2.

I'm beginning to think I either have an extreme fear of failure syndrome, or I'm just too plain dumb to do it.

I am the KING of procrastination.

essay of the day

"what happens to protein, carbs, and fats after they go through the digestive system?"

I just realised, I spend half my time with schoolwork, procrastinating it. Saying i'm doing it but just staring at it or being here. Kinda unnerving really.

back to my pictures I go ..  :sigh:

So, to kill a little more time:

On Friday, about 3 hours before my extended deadline, I was looking for this girl chum who's quite possibly the only person to have done any work. I find her and in my charming manner shout:

Me: Yo! [name]! You're a good little girl, ain't you?
Girl: No. (;7)
Me: You're a wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous, sexy......(paraphrased for great justice).....young woman. Ain't ya?
Girl: What do you want?
Me: Biology coursework. You did the one with the HP and stuff, didn't ya?
Girl: No, I did the colourimeter one.
Me: Gah! ****! Okay. You can go.......Shoo. Go-on. ****-off.

*insert a 20 minute gap of me sitting trying to find other Biology people*

Girl: Have you really done no work?
Me: Not a ****ing thing.
Girl: Do you want my all my stuff to copy from? Like for the structure and intro and stuff?
Me: *stunned silence*

*insert 35 minutes of me and her scouring the college for a computer and another 20 minutes of her scouring her personal disk space looking for the files (which weren't there)*

Anyway, the point is, how nice is this girl? Aside from the fact that she's funny, gorgeous, smart etc. I don't even know her that well (she's in classes with a few of my acquaintances and we've hung out some) and she's offering me like 30 pages of work she's spent a good 2 months working on.

Now, I'm pretty used to manipulating people into giving me things, but this was entirely unprovoked. She just came up and tried to give me all this work for no reason. I was completely shocked.

Anyway......Back to *gag* work.

I don't like anyone (with the exception of my two-year-old niece; She's as evil as me, but is far cuter and thus gets away with more). I even refer to people I've hung out with since I was five as 'acquaintances'. Go check through all my posts and you'll see I make heavy used of the terms 'chum', 'pal' and 'mate', but almost never used the word 'friend'. But she's about as close as I think I'll ever get to actually liking someone.

At least I don't have to worry about this stuff for the moment. :D

And yes, biology is definitely the worst of the three sciences mentioned here. The stuff they teach early on hardly qualifies as a science in my opinion; it isn't much more than memorization of cryptic Latin words and assigning things names. I never liked chemistry much either, as there always seemed to be at least ten exceptions to every "rule" and thus there was a whole lot of memorizing to do. Physics is the best one, although they don't really do the interesting stuff until later.

sorry, didn't see this thread until now. arcsin(4/3)-arcsin(1/3) :p

Integrals are cool, but only the special function types. here's a nice one:

1
ó (1-xa)(1-xb)(1-xc)
ô ------------------  dt
õ x log(x) - log(x)
0

= log( [ (a+b)! (b+c)! (a+c)! ] / [ a! b! c! (a+b+c)! ] )

Quick question, can you actually do that even if the func isn't defined at x=4? I see how the integration works and so you wouldn't run into that problem there, whereas trying to do by a calculator or something would give you an error.
Title: A-Level Coursework
Post by: CP5670 on February 07, 2003, 10:07:55 am
sure; actually, that function I put there is a case of that. (same goes for poles and stuff within the integration range)

¥
ò sin(x²) dx = Ö(p/2)
-¥

This one is kind of neat, since limx®± ¥ sin(x²) does not exist at all. :D

It is now 12:38am, I have college at 8am and have to hand in two pieces of Biology coursework by 3pm (one which she's said she won't even mark if it's any later, and the other, she'll be mighty annoyed if it ain't done).

I am, as the French say, well and truly ****ed.

And then there's the little matter of the 4 pieces of English coursework that have to be in tomorrow.

*sits and cries*

So basically, I'm prioritising.

IE, I'm doing the vastly urgent Biology one and leaving everything else for over the holiday next week.
