I bought a new PC, got rid of the old one, and realised that I lost my Truespace CD, and I couldn't get another. Now I'm wrking in 3D Studio MAX and I re-made some of my models. They look better than ever, and I even now know how to work with Uniwrap, so I can texture my models properly.
Can someone point me to some 3D studio MAX Freespace modeling tutorial. I have to chek everything before I convert my models (sacling, facing, faces, turrets).

private message most modeling types in here like venom and peeps in the HLP art forum, there are alot of people who can teach you to do so, just ask around. there is A PROGRAM that can convert the files you made from 3D Studio Max, to truespace, so u can convert them into POF's. BUT SINCE if you dont have truespace its kinda hard to do it so far. if you wanna know polygon totals, and limits, go into the source code forum and ask or research, the info is there.
the program is called Deep Exploration. there is a demo version available @ the website (forgot it, search on google), PM me if u want the thingy to make it urs *hint hint*

PCS can convert 3D MAX meshes and scenes, I don't need a converter. I need a tutorial to see if I've done everything right before I convert to POF.
I know how to make a model in Truespace (LODs, faces, turrets - the works), but not in 3D MAX.
So, I repeat: What I do need is some tutorial to see how to do the LODs and turrets in 3D MAX!

no, PCS can't convert max files, and there's no way to do lods and turrets in max ( the hierarchy I mean, the models you can do of course ).

What you need is TS1/2 or better. (And if using TS1/2, try to avoid using textures with long filenames.)
