Post by: Ulundel on February 10, 2003, 12:55:04 pm: Give a warm welcome to Ulundel - an elvish word which should mean something but I forgot what. Ulundel (me) is an uber-sexy he-elf who lives in Rivendell and owns a ring of power - the ring of Hroafelmë, which means sexual passion.

good luck with that... my sister like translated what they said in Elvish in "two towers" (i saw the first showing, at 12:01 AM on the 19th, they were showing it in 12 theaters at that one showing, the place was packed... i saw it with my sister, cause i couldn't get anyone who wanted to stay up that late)... but yeah, they'd say something in elvish, and she'd translate it.

Yeah, 2 hours a day I'm a nerd, the rest of the time I'm ususally hanging out somewhere (or school). Learning elvish is a like a hobby - I don't take it seriously.

Then you are not learning. Language acquisition always requires dedicated, regular effort, especially when one is not living in an environment in which the language is commonly used. This is as true for Quenya as for German.

If you want to actually learn one of the Elvish tongues, it will require application and homework, and daily reading and practice.
