For those who don't keep track of the HW2 community and news much there was some more news and a few new screenshots released in IGN which can be found here... http://pc.ign.com/articles/386/386254p1.html

The Homeworld Shipyards site is also a good resource to dig up info and also has pretty much all of the screenshots released so far.  You can find that here... http://www.well-of-souls.com/homeworld/hws/index.html

now that's a cool idea, adding your own logos to your fleets, won't be too long 'til you see something freespacey plastered on the side of one of those ships..

*ejaculates*

It's still not as good as EVE........or is it EVE-2. I forget. But none-the-less it's pretty awe inspiring.

Not bad. But I'd hardly even trust IGN to even get its screenshots right- those are probably for some vaguely Homeworld-like game from another dimension, with the same appearance but otherwise completely different.

But then, eh, they gave MOO3 a 9. Can't be TOO bad.

MOO3 looks good.  It's going to surprise a number of the older MOO series fans I bet, but that really should be a welcome thing since every TBS space empire sim has pretty much been similar in design since '95, and we haven't had any decent TBS space emp games as such for a while.

Space Empires 4 was good, but it wasn't marketted very effectively.  MOO3 will be a welcome new comer to many people.

And regarding MOO, you might find this interesting... http://www.well-of-souls.com/outsider
(shame on you if you haven't spotted this while visiting the HW shipyards site).

Stars Supernova... now that will be a game worth buying definately.  To bad it's been delayed by stuff and 'what nots'.  I still play the original on a regular basis.

I didn't know there where any other Stars! players here.  It might be worth starting up an HLP stars game some time.

I like my Interstellar Traveller, but rule best with Super Stealth.  JOAT are good for all purpose but they are a tad dull to play sometimes (thats probably just me though).  How about you?

It's a turn based space empire strategy game focusing more on the pure strategy aspect rather than surround sound and pretty lens flare graphics and such.

It's run directly from the windows GUI and to the untrained eye looks rather 'lame' compared to other games.  But for a person who enjoys playing space emp building games such as MOO2 or Ascendancy (which is free to download from the underdogs site, as is the original MOO) it's quite immersive.

Stars! is more from the perspective of an intelligence report style of play than you actually playing as the 'god'.  Fleet battles can range into hundreds of ships for all sides involved in a single battle.  The game interface looks something like this...

Oddly enough I found this screenie laying around in the tap site folders.  One of the other Tappers must also be a stars player *shrug*

.......Reminds me of Xpace.

Where (hypothetically) could one (hypothetically) obtain such a (hypothetical) program if one were to (hypothetically) posses a (hypothetical) wreckless disregard for (hypothetical) international copyright laws (hypothetically)?

Probably not much of anywhere. They only pirate games that have a fanbase of more than 12.

Though a Google search might yield something, I dunno.

Or you could just buy it for cheap at the website.
