Try making the maps darker, but putting more red light on it.
ATM it looks too faggoty. All purply-pinky.

Apart from that little comment, yes as An0n said, make the lighting on the Deimos more purple. I like the interlace effect though.
Oh yes, and make the beams actually hit something. :p

You don't think you could throw it all the way to Saku? It's only 12 or so km.

Also make sure you use the sun as the main light source. The side away from the sun shouldn't be brightly lit. On the Demios darken the non-sun side up a bit more then have an infinite light cast a red shine accross that same side. That will give it the look that the beam itself is what's lighting it up.

Font is Xenotron and making scanlines is very easy - it can be done with most of rendering programs as well with PSP, PS and various other image editing programs.

Another note ... more as to the posting of the image ... use lvlshot instead of the img tag :)

Wierd but impossible. I double checked that it moves right, before rendering.

The Deimos is very lucky (or the Shivans are just plain incompetent). The Deimos dodged 3 beams at once :p

Can't get the red glow on the Deimos right...so it'll stay that way.

That part could be done in photoshop or what not. But that side would need to been rendered darker still.

Remember EVERYone here has learned a trick or two from someone. Never let that make you feel your artwork is anything less then it should be ;)

Not bad, but you've gone too far with those TV like lines there whatever those are. What's with the white Ravana's hangar? The sun has too much flares in it. Remove them. Ravana beams are way too light. Play Freespace 2 again and see that they are actually much darker. By the way, that's done in Max right?

Well yeah. The scene has many lights and they're reflecting from the hangar.
I don't see anything wrong with the scanlines. Its part of the story - screwed situation, screwed image quality.

Reduce the specularity on the Ravanna, esse. It's not a freakin' mirror.;)

The two forward LRED beam cannons are on the lower two 'prongs' of the front four, ie turret01 and turret02.
