Title: Why I'm Screaming
Post by: an0n on February 16, 2003, 02:38:39 pm
Firstly:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGH!!!!!!!!!! My wrists!!

I've just beaten the crap out of my punch-bag a little too much and I think I've impacted some cartalige (sp?).

Secondly:
Why, in God's name, do I have to have the largest piece of fecal matter for a motherboard ever?

Quote
From the Installation instructions for my new front-mouted speakers and USB box thingy

If your motherboard has a 10-pin connection, attatch the paired coloured cables to the block as shown:

1 2 3 4 5

If your motherboard has a 8-pin connection, attatch the paired coloured cables as shown below:

1 2 3 4

Mine looks like this

And this, kids, is why my next computer will be entirely built by me. And it's also why I won't be buying any more computer parts from car-boot sales.

No. There's not even a mangled hole where the pin used to be. It's flat, smooth plastic. No pin has e'er before touched the shiny hydro-carbons of that part of the block.

Either treat it as a 10-pin, or if that for some reason doesn't work, ignore the exteraneous pin and treat it as an 8-pin. This isn't exactly brain surgery.

Through various burns and electrocutions I have managed to get the speakers and front audio-port thingies working.

The USB ports however, are still screwed.

tell me how you fixed your usb ports when you've fixed them, I've got the same problem, and I'm too lazy to do anything about it.
