Just use the normal SF Scorpion model. The trails are set in the TBLs in the ship's entry, not in the POF. But it does help to have Segeltuch and Modelview to help you come up with the coordinates for where the trails go.

Simple.

Open the model up in modelview and open your ship table in notepad or wordpad.  Enter into edit mode in modelview and use light points to pinpoint where on the model you want to put the contrail.  Using the XYZ coordinates from the lights enter them into the ship table.  When you're done close modelview and make DAMN SURE YOU DO NOT SAVE YOUR CHANGES!  (we were just using the lights to generate the XYZ data we needed).

You can set lights in Modelview??

Are you thinking of TS perhaps or is this a new version of Modelview?

Same old MODELVIEW32 that you can get from the Descent Developer Network ("http://descent-3.com/ddn/").  You can set engine lights and gunflash lights.  I only use MV to plot coordinates tho, it's really buggy so I never use it for any actual editing.

It ("http://www.homestead.com/jskgames/files/betaFSII2SF011.zip") will be done by November, trust me  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

hmm, weapons and subsystem are not bnuggy, you should do that in mview, much faster. anyway, it won't save the viewpoint, the stupid thing.

No problem.  But it's really easy to check yourself, test it in FS2 and see if it looks monkeyed up  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)

Seriously, not a problemb, just send me your ship.tbl (or at least the entry for the scorpion) and I'll double check your work.
