Just a quick query if someone were to make a campaign,
What would be the next big superweapon the shivans would use?
I mean in FS1 they had a planetkiller and in FS2 they had a starkiller so whats next?

Or maybe generate a massive gravity source at its centre, potent enough to contract the entire galaxy into one massive black hole

how about in the 7.5 minute Freelancer trailer, like that big shiny ship that sends a charged rocket thing into the sun, which in turn wipes out the entire galaxy when the sun explodes (implodes?)

HeI think it would be some weapon to rip appat subspace tunnels and use the energy to destroy anything they want.
By the way, Shivans didn't have planet killers in Fs1. They had Super Laser. It was also used on ships. Star killer was only used on stars. :nod:

the lucifer took like 20 hours to kill a planet, and the Sathanas fleet took, several days at least to kill Capella, so I think a true planet killer would be nice,
shows up, blast the planet to bits in a manner of seconds, move on to do something more important

okay...without having superweapons as backups to negotiations, they are just dumb...why waste the effort to destroy a planet? or even a solar system?

i don't think the shivans were nicknamed "The destroyers" due to a lack of gunboat diplomacy.   They don't conquer, they destroy.  They Iced an entire system, it would have made the job much easier if they would have had the weapon being discussed, the planet killer.  Then they could have used it to destroy the planet (s), instead of using 80 juggs.  That has to be expensive.  Not to mention very time consuming when you think about the sheer number of manhours spent in that operation.....or shivanhours ( i just know someone will want to split hairs over that one).  

On the other hand, a well known man who was very nice to everyone once said, "The power to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the force."

Maybe the Shivans will become Force users next.:D

Yeah, but we want the planet to become dust in a matter of seconds.  Big weapons are cool until they're pointed at you.

13 hours to barbeque Vasuda prime. The planet is still there though. And it took the Sathanas fleet some 30 secs to kill the star. It took them days to assemble the Sathanas fleet arround the Capella star though.

Quantum Singularity Gun (or something) - fires black holes.  Hardly original, but the oldies are the goodies.

Or a subspace phase gun - tears a planet into pieces by warping chunks of it through subspace.

It took seconds to explode but the briefings in earlier missions say that unusual subspace readings were bein detected hours earlier.

i like the subspace one, keeps in mind with the shivans advanced subspace tech.

Maybe the shivans could drag a planet into subspace, you know to use it as one of their colonies or slave planets or whatever.

Anyways, My original question was supposed to be asking what superweapon would have gone into fs3

That would be kind of boring to use in campaigns though, since you could never leave a mission... :p (unless you are using fs2_open or something like that)
