:nervous: 67 pages?
-
From what I can see, that's just an enormous thread... am I missing anything?
-
Yep. SPAM.
-
Wow. 67 pages, and lame by the third post.
I think the Internet's making me cynical about human intelligence, you know?
-
you gots to go way back to appreciate the horrors TaS created
-
see what spam can do if left unchecked?
*shudders*
-
I remember TaS, but I think it was on its third or fourth iteration by the time I showed up, and wasn't quite so bad...
-
When I registered it was at some 150 posts with a couple of pages, but it gained momentum quite fast after that until the day the VBB died. Also, I think the forum scripts completely messed up on that thread, since the last few pages were not accessible at all (on the original VBB copy) and thus the most recent posts could not be viewed. :p
-
IPAndrew's TWNBAFS3 thread reached well over sixty pages, IIRC. Loved that thred :)
-
a disturbing little thing I just noted, the last post on TAS was on 09-10-2001
-
well, the VBB was probably swamped with 9/11 threads the next day, so it must have gotten buried once again. :D
-
still some what disturbing IMO
-
in retrospect, maybe keeping tas bumped would have been a good idea

The significance of TaS isn't the length of it, but what it is composed of. reading it will make you go insane. The entire thing is not just repeatitive spam, but an epic prose. It has one continuous story as well as many sup-stories, completely unrelated short stories (some of which are more than 1000 words long.) and symbolic poetic literature. It is the origin and record of most if not all of the community's legends and folklore, and creator of all the characters and items you will see on the HLPBB. From TaS came spacecrack, bosch beer, and, yes, even yours truly. Ph33r Tell a Story, for it is the greatest power in the FS universe.
-
also it has the last 40 pages of one single sentence, if I remember correctly.
-
Oh dear god... this allmost brings tears into my eyes... really, no kidding :)
In TAS were so many different characters and things invented... and if I remember right it's the birthplace of Carl the Shivan ;)
I really loved that topic... at least a little :p
Edit: Oh my... I found one of my posts when browsing randomly
-
Excuse me if I don't care....

This page of the thread is classic TAS spam... :p :D
-
Haha, yep... accidental doubleposts are nothing compared to that
-
speaking of... noone's got it available for download as a zip file or something?
hmm... I took down all of the pages that were there, so I'm gonna need page2 to make it "complete".
-
Hmm, right...
-
my goodness.
aren't we glad hlp no longer supports spam threads like that...;)
