I textured something! It makes me happy!!
anyways....
This is a really fast freighterâ„¢ for my TC. It is completely civillian, so it has no weapons, however there will be pirate versions of it that are armed/dangerous.

It's what I do...
Umm, while the model is nice enough (Though definitely not Freespacey and yes I know it's for a TC so it loses no marks there) The textures are, well, :ick in short. Witghout turrets to break up the monotony, it looks really, textured I guess, as opposed to real, and the primary central texture is far too underdetailed IMO.
If you have the skills, I'd suggest UVmapping it. If not, I'd suggest you try to retexture it, use a few more textures, and possibly add some radar dishes, an exposed/more detailed bridge, engine cooling fins, some things to break it up a little and add detail when textured. Don't be afraid to use a lot of textures, even little tiny ones that you're only going to use once for a single piece of detailing. Possibly, you could even composit some of your own tiled textures to give them more detail, though that'd be something you'd probably have to work at for a bit...
-
I can't UV map, so I'll try to do some more textures...
and as for detail...yeah...I do need some more, but I can't really figure out where. Engine fins look really bad when I try to do them...I tried adding a docking "tower", but that looked pretty stupid as well...
I do need to do something with the front of the engines, as there are no intakes in space...any suggestions towards that end would be very helpful to me...
-
Rather than the currently bland flat-ish front of your engines, you can do a sweep up using both the horizontal and vertical planes and make it more of a diagonal... know what i mean? ;7 Also, the brown texture is ugly, however the main silver is ok. congrats you can quasi-texture.

dude, thats a bomber. I like it, though maybe you should make the things that stick out of the wings a bit shorter, so they dont stick out so much. I like the textureing, though there is no visible cockpit (though you didnt intend it to be a bomber i guess)
-
Nice!
Cool shape, but I have to agree that it looks kind of empty at te moment. You should put some superstructure onto the big flat areas on top and underneath. Doesn't have to be huge, you could just do an extension from the cockpit structure back to the dockpoint (I assume that's what the thing between the spikes on the back is). A sort of short dorsal fin-type thing would be good:)
Another idea would be to change the shape of the engines - make them slightly flatter, and extend them over the top of the main hull to the ridges that are there already. It would fill up the space, and them you could leave the central bit as it is...
PS. How big is it? Triton-sized, or what? It's really hard to tell without turrets.:)

I really like it, make a good smuggler ship.
-
Oh come on! It's SCREAMING bomber!
It looks like the bigger brother to the Ursa, stick on some big ass guns(6 I'd say) and turn them intakes into missile racks, and call it the Ursa Mk2!
Btw: it's good!

Bomber = :yes:
The main body is good, the "engines" (?) look like missle pods, not cargo holds.
-
It's too big to be a bomber. It is the sort of ship that would be called "A stock light freighter", but would be fitted out for smuggling, with high powered engines and weapons. Think Millenium Falcon. Think Dash Rendar's Outrider

are you sure that you can't read minds??? Almost exactly spot-on with that...

and maybe we could call it a Corellian YT-1300 Just playin....i like it, good work.

The mesh is excellent IMHO, but I do agree that the texturing needs some work. Not being a fan of FS style capship texturing I don't see a point in having a drab brown and grey hull, add some lighting like reactor glows or something along those lines.
The bridge is far too small in relation to the main body to be a bomber in any case. I think it looks like a corvette

Wow! Thanks everyone for all the comments!
The thing is, I don't have any textures other than the base FS2 ones...and I really really really suck at drawing my own...
if someone could point me towards some texture resources...?
and what do you mean by reactor glows? I don't quite follow what you are saying there...
-
You could try just changing the colours of some of the base textures. Make them darker or lighter, and adjust the colour balance to make them look different. I'm not brilliant at this, but some of the guys are fantastic texture artists. Ask them for tips and you can't go wrong!:)

 i completely agree

rather than he current flat brown... stick some antimatter textures in the middle to give the impression that that is the fuel storage. maybe a turret or two... other than that... superb job, old chap.
