So whats this about making induvidual textures glow. How do you do this. I was able to trick the game using thrusters before to create glowing affects but this sounds to good to be true(or something Bobboau would come up with) so hows it done?????

Simple. Create a copy of the map you want to glow, and remove all parts of it you don't want to glow. Name it "texturename-glow.pcx".For example, on a Shivan fighter map, you would remove all the colors on it except red. Then the red will 'glow' at full brightness and not be affected by the dynamic lighting.

This seems like as good a place as any to ask - does glow mapping a texture make the rest of it dark? Or just make the glowing bits bright?

It only makes the glowy-bits bright. The trouble is when you're in the nebula, glowmapped textures get the fog effect applied twice, so it looks odd.

I think that has been fixed for 3.5.
