Post by: Akrovah on October 26, 2001, 03:15:00 pm
Ok, i know that inorder to use the Special Warp-effect in Freespace 2, you are supposed to have a knossoss portal in the mission, but, is there any way to trick the game into using it without haing the portal? It's kind of integral to the campaing i'm planning out.(I had a few mission, but forgot to back them up when i re-installed windows.) I havn't been able to find a way, but maybe someone here has. Thanks for any help[ oyu can give me.

The special warpout ANI isn't triggered by a Knossos. It's set in the "Misc" detail section of each ship or wing you place in the mission. In the field there, enter in the filename of the special subspace ANI you want to use. Enjoy  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

No, all that you do in the misc. section of the ships editor is check, the special warp box, but just doing that won't make it use the special warp. The omly way i have found to do it is to use the special-warpout-name event modifier in which you put the name of the ship and the name of the portal. I want to know if there is some other way.
