Out of curiosity, since I stopped following the news a bit back- anything actually happen with al Quaeda, like finding more guys or actually catching bin Laden or anything? And what the **** happened with that anthrax thing- they just give up looking?
I think I musta missed something, 'cos there's plenty about Iraq right now, but al Quaeda's dissapeared completely. Hell, I haven't even heard the name since the State of the Union.
And I'm just asking a question, so no dumbass arguments. We've all heard most everyone here pontificate on the topic before, we don't need more of the same.

Bush Logic
Bomb Afghanistan - Check
blow up/imprison al qaeda - Check
Kill Osama - Meh
*Kill Osama turns into Hussein is harbouring Osama turns into try killing Hussein*

Anthrax? I don't think there was actually ever any anthrax other than at some lab in Georgia, although there are news reports of moronic disgruntled ladies sending powdered sugar marked anthrax to their boses everyday.
We're going through a new Terrorist Threat Color Level Phase at the moment - which I may add is the most complete piece of bull**** I've heard of in the last month.
I think we're at Threat Level Burnt Sienna or Opal or something. Sandy maroon or something being lowest, red being highest...
-
I was referring to the mail anthrax a while back. People started getting panicky, so the Postal Service did all sorts of bull**** gestures to try to detect anthrax in the mail, and that was the last I ever heard of it. Nobody identified, no news on whether it was still going on or not, nothing.
Saddam supposed to be harboring bin Laden? But after the thing in Afghanistan they said he's escaped into Pakistan! How'd he get into Iraq? Any evidence or something? This is news to me.
-
Yeah, I don't think they ever found much anthrax in the mail. I don't remember hearing too many confirmed reports..
As far as Bin Laden and Sadam, I can't give any evidence to back that up, but I think they got in a fight or something. Bin Laden alledgedly released some tapes last week talking trash about Sadam, telling his Muslim bro's to rise against Sadam and Unify against the American Devils.

And another thread spiraling down into its grave. Did you not get Shrike's point?
-
Oh, boy, you again. Look, I'm merely getting up to speed. You wanna sit around and make fatuous remarks until you turn this into a flamewar, piss off. There are plenty of other places you can be irritating. Or answer the questions, let the thread serve its purpose and go away. Simple as that.
-
Flame? I just mearly said this is going to end up somewhere. You don't have to get personal chief. And if you do want to come on over to Warpstorm.
What's new with Al Qaeda? Notta. Nothing. Zippo.
-
There's nothing wrong with this thread, other than being reminded of world events yet again.
Bassically Al Qaeda is what you saw in that Gunship Video.

Yup. That's them planning... go take a look at old pictures of the Cole or 9/11 to see them in action.
-
Yes, but all 3 of those are old. I'm talking about now. I already know enough about before, I was ****ing there, just like everyone else. Post-Afghanistan, the both of yas!

post Afghanistan would be...
Camp X-Ray

in sunny Cuba.
-
Ah. So we've won the war on terror! No need to bother Iraq! We can have our basic freedoms back! Yay!
-
When were they taken away? Besides certain paranoia about them.
-
How 'bout when people started getting arrested without warrant, trial, or probable cause?
-
you have a point there... doesn't that come under BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS?!
-
When has that happened to U.S citizens chief?
-
Aight, someone else track down an article this time. I can't find any news at all right now, and I'm not gonna look more than 5 minutes for a political thread.
-

Not sitting on chairs comes under BASIC CHAIR RIGHTS! Why are they not getting them? Evil!! :D :D
-
If chairs want rights, they're gonna hafta start making noise and get their own damn rights, just like we did. Or at least display a flicker of evidence that they'd care either way. Until then, my ass is comfortable where it is.:D
-
but it is chair rights! if humans have rights then it is not fair to the chairs! it's discrimination I tell ya!
:D
You are right that the people must make their rights if they want anything, but we never did because it is quite impossible in today's age and has been so for a while. :p
-
Actually, it's a fairly simple process, and hasn't changed significantly throughout time. Basically, whenever people are dumb enough to create a government that restricts their rights too much (fairly regularly, that), the governmetn inevitably overdoes it, the larger part of the population revolts (or a small part, with the support of the rest), deposes the government, kills everyone associated with it in a bloody purge (generally), and, after a bit of fuss and a few thousand deaths, people are freer than ever. Story of history. It works regardless of technology or situation, simply because the government is never that far ahead of the people, and any attempt by the government to make itself exist entirely independently of the populace (which would tip the scales, if successful) is enough to start the revolt.
'Course, I doubt that the US government will arrive at that point for... oh, maybe a hundred years, give or take some decades, which is part of why it pisses me off. I'm not gonna be around in a hundred years, I wanna revolution now! Inject some point into this generation's wasted lives!
-
They have just as little freedom as they used to have though, except that they are controlled by something else, only that they now think they are free (for a little while). :p Besides, all of the powerful countries today are really police states in disguise or they would not be where they are today; it is just that they have made their people think otherwise. ;7 And as for the "farther ahead" business, you might as well say that cells are "farther ahead" of humans because they are the constituent parts; sorry, but if the governments were not farther ahead, they would not exist at all. :D
now give the chairs their rights or there will be a ... CHAIR REBELLION!! þ|-|£€®! :shaking:

:wtf:
OMG
CP used l33t talk!!!! *prepares anti-catastrophe teams* ;)
This discussion reminds me, I support bacteria rights. I think all soap and anti-bacterial materials should be disposed of, making sure not to let any bacteria die in the process. Of couse that means no alcohol :p The sort of Massive GENOCIDE that goes on with bacteria should not be accepted in the civilized world!!!! :D
-
CP used l33t talk!!!!
-
Genocides are fair play at any point in time. Hell, we still do it to our own species at the drop of a hat, bacteria can wait.
-
You invision man far nobler than it is. War is at its heart.
-
Who said it wasn't? I have a hard time believing anyone can think that people are ever gonna accept pacifism what with current events...
Still, nobody really answered my question. What the **** happened to hunting bin Laden? We just kinda halfheartedly did it for a month, then gave up and decided attacking Saddam would be more fun?
Pfeh. Money on that in two or three years he finishes off the Pentagon, and everybody goes "HOW COULD WE HAVE KNOWN?????" ****ing short-attention-span society, ****'s useless. Soon enough, people are gonna forget the point Osama was makin' when he blew up that ****- really, what's the point of making a statement anymore? All you can do is kill people and cause a little stampeding.
-
They're still trying to find him i think, but it's not "major News" so we don't hear anything about it 'cept for the odd message he sends out - it's just like the apollo program in the 60's after 11, the news thought that the space program after that was of "lesser signifigance" up until 13 that is.
what i'm saying is that bin laden isn't seen as often on the news simply 'cause the us can't find him, so the media and the US focuses their attention on a loony that at least they know where to find, saddam...

getting closer (http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/asiapcf/south/03/01/pakistan.arrests/index.html)
