I need a 3D program to make models in!
Truespace is crap - there's no tutorials or anything, and the interface sucks ass. Blender's useless as well.
I'm d/l-ing POV-RAY right now, but any other suggestions would be very useful.
Much obliged, people!:)

Rhino is really easy to use, but not very compatable with the .pof files freespace uses.
Sandwich has a tutorial for conversion, however...

Hmm - I'll check it out. Thanks!:)
One question - does it cost loads to buy, or are there cheap/free versions available?

An 'educational' license is $200, provided you're a student. I think it's well worth it, as the program is incredible. I've made every FS model so far in Rhino, since it's extremely accurate and you can join up seams and move vertices with ease.

Of coarse theres Maya PLE or Lightwave Discovery but thats not a lot of use if you want to convert models. I dunno if its available on the web but i got a fully functional 30 day demo of 3ds max 5 from a computer arts cd, you'd have to learn fast but its a good tool.

oOOO! You live in the UK, yeah Piro? If you buy this months PC Gamer mag, there is a Full Program of Truespace 3, another widely used Model Program. Buy it if you can.
