Title: FS=Massively multiplayer?
Post by: Unknown Target on March 01, 2003, 08:43:50 am
Any ideas on how to do this (hopefully free, for the community)? I was making a ship in the E&B starship and character creator, and was just thinking on how cool it would be to customize my own Deimos, or something...

What would have to be changed in the code, while still trying to keep it relatively the same?
I'd have to think the ability to warp between different systems in the same game, and to dock with other ships.

Oh, hell, no. All we need now is MMO l33t kiddies. Little ****ers, they're like rats- thousands of them where there's one, and they're nasty as anything.

MMOGs are awesome, and a FS2 MMOG would be even more awesome...

Things that would proabably have to be done:
-Increasing the optimization of the multiplayerness
-Creating a new protocol for transferring different information
-Have a server that hosts these games
-Have an interface to deal with ship selection, etc...
-System jumping rules
-and lots of other things that I can't think of right now

It'd have to be basic at the start, but, as it grows, we could add more features (like PvP combat).
