Isn't it weird that we can understand 99.9 percent of what the readme author is trying to say though?

Engrish, comedy value for mundane products.

That would work better with a broad Scots accent, Like Billy Connolly.

We do share a lot of the same lingo as the scots but the accents have discernable differences. Possibly the most full on in your face example of the northern Irish accent in full swing is that guy in the Austrialian soap 'neighbours'. He's got a belfast accent, the kind you associate with car thieves and teenage rioters.

has anyone ever watched an asian movie (made in asia... crouching tiger doesn't count) with subtitles?

you can understand like 20% of what they say, and of that only about 5% makes sense

Hehe I thought you meant it didn't count because it wasn't made in asia. Oh well...

Yeah, but i didn't like Crouching tiger that much.

I have word from someone I know in Asia that there's a movie called "Hero" with Jet Li, Donnie Yen (who is my favorite asian actor), and Zhang Zhi.  the trailer looks awesome, and it comes out officially in the US November, 2003.  I get it tomorrow on VCD though ;) lol

It came out less than a month ago (if i remember correctly) in Asia

The plot thickens.

When you said asia I thought you meant Indian and such films. You can't just class stuff as "Asian", really, as it is such a large continent. Even Russian stuff could be classed as Asian.

sorry, you're getting technical here...

when i say "Asian", I mean China, Japan, Korea, all the places where their eyes are thin... dammit, you know what i mean!

it's like saying "The term 'Americans' is incorrect, because 'American' should represent everyone on North and South America".

Post by: Stryke 9 on March 03, 2003, 03:38:36 pm
For that matter, some of the Russian stuff is pretty incomprehensible. Yeah, I get that they're cold, they're poor, they're miserable, someone probably just died in the coldest, poorest, and most miserable way possible, but that's common to pretty much all Russian movies, and hence doesn't help me out with the plot much. For that matter, all the Russian literature's pretty much like that, too, when it isn't about how the government makes everyone even more miserable.

Talk about a place that must have a ****ty tourism industry.

Aand... well, I can actually understand about 50% of Asian movies and ****, but then again I can also tell exactly what's going on in video cutscenes without any soundcard- 's because most of 'em are the same cliched trash that's on morning television, basically. Except, you know... really, really fast, from a largely different culture, and occasionally flashing at a rate indended to give migraines.

I have no problems with that. That's the way it should be. America is not just the US, although someone at school thought that all of North, South and Central America was part of the US!
