I made this render here.
As you can see, there is a little thing missing here. That little thing is or are, explosions. How do you make those? Is there a plugin for Photoshop for those or is there another alternative.
By the way, the mjolnir on the left is hiing a ship on the side, not on the top and the Artemis is dodging that beam there.

RTFT!!!!!
aslo: get rid of the turret debris, check that grey square under the orion, and put some shadows. what prog are you using?
as for the explosion, extract a frame from the FS2 anis, and use it on the render, new layer etc.

Waoh woah easy there. The program is lightwave by the way.
Yes i know about that layer trick but it doesn't work. Can you give me some details on how to make those? I am not really fammiliar with layers you know. Thanks.
beams in PS????
Didn't you know about that?

You can always try layering them in Photoshop. I'm not familar with Lightwave but I'm sure there's tutorial's online somewhere for doing explosions. Try : www.scifi-meshes.com I know alot of the stuff there is LW.

mmh? well to be honest when I do explosions I do them directly in max: I map a quad, add glow, opacity map, self illu, put it in the right place, and put a light.
btw: rtft here means "rotate the ****ing turrets" :D
fed up off all those renders with GTVA ships which have the hardon :doubt:

Ok. I have been working a bit on everything and here is what I did so far. Mind you, this is my first attempt at making explosions. Well just tell me what you think of them ok?

By the way, here is the render that I did yesterday and of course with little improvements. Any opinions suggestions?

The explosion itself is nice, but it looks a bit "pasted on" on that render.
Did you make the explosion in photoshop or LW?

Actually it is not pasted on. I used layers.
The explosion was made in lightwave and without particles, hyper voxels or anything like that.

Oh come on is it really that bad? :sigh:
-
Its so bad, I can't see anything but a red x...
-
Sorry. I had to post it at Geo****ies because fattonys was off line yesterday. Try now :)
My first explosion:

Render : Bettar
Beams: Bettar!
Explosion: ghey
-
eh..ok
But which explosions are you talking about?
The one on the seperate canvas or one on the render?
-
the orion isnt textured right!
-
Actually it is. :)
I didn't use the ordinary Orion maps. I used glow maps instead, plus did some tweakage.
-
Turrets are still unrotated.

The explosion... on the render...with teh beamage..

Geez what's with the rotating turrets?
Is that the most important thing in the render?
-
Yes, if they're next to the camera.
-
Well they aren't practically next to the camera but how do you rotate them in LW anyway?
-
Dunno. I'm using Max. You might try searching for pivot point options though...
