i will see this :

there was an error processing the patch :
Old file not found , However, a file of the same name was found
No update done since file contents do not match

:confused:

did you upgrade it from the launcher? or from another scource

Did you get your copy of FS2 from HotU by any chance?

If so have a look at my FAQ (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/karajorma/freespace/hotu.html)

EDIT : Hmmm. I`ll have to edit that FAQ now that the missing files are available for download.

in the FreeSpace2 Launcher (the thing with play, settings, and other stuff) you can click on the upgrade button while you are online, the launcher should do the rest, you just have to click OK

Make sure you download the correct patch for the game.  There are several versions of the game distributed around the world, and Volition had to release seperate patches for each.
